Holton Heath is six stations from Weymouth on the Bournemouth Line. Thornford is six stations fron Weymouth on the Heart of Wessex line.

Willington is one of those stations not served by the TOC that manages it as is Lockerbie. (Managed by EMR and ScotRail respectively the former being served by CrossCountry and the latter by TPE and Avanti West Coast).

Samuel Kerr was the station master at Lockerbie between 1905 and 1914; he had previously held the same post at Uddingston, although no records are available of when he was there.

Carntyne was also opened by the North British Railway in 1871.

Carntyne is three stations east of Glasgow Queen Street Low Level while Hyndland is three stations west.

In 2017, a local domestic cat became associated with Hyndland station. It's not known whether he / she is still there, but one of the most famous station cats ("Felix") is still to be found at Huddersfield station.

Norwich is another DfT category B station with six platforms.

The current station at Norwich was built, at the cost of £60,000, by Messrs Youngs and Son, of Norwich, from designs by Messrs J Wilson and William Neville Ashbee (1852 – 1919), the Great Eastern Railway's engineer and architect respectively. Following his appointment to the GER in 1883 Ashbee started to adopt the "Domestic Revival" style of architecture; his earliest work in this style was at Ingatestone station in 1884 / 1885.

Needham Market is also a Grade II listed railway station.

Needham Market station was originally opened with the name Needham by the Ipswich & Bury Railway in 1846. The main building was designed in a grand Jacobean style with decorative brickwork by Frederick Barnes and was completed by the contractor, Daniel Revitt, in 1849. In the same year, Thurston station was also opened by the Ipswich and Bury Railway and also designed by Frederick Barnes in the same Jacobean style using decorative brickwork.

Shippea Hill is another DfT category F2 station managed by Greater Anglia.

Brandon was also opened in 1845 at the time the Norwich and Brandon Railway became part of the Norfolk Railway.

Brandon is three stations from Ely towards Norwich. Whittlesea is three stations from Ely towards Peterborough.

On 14th September 1968, 4472 Flying Scotsman, whilst hauling The Chesterfield Flyer from Ipswich to (unsurprisingly) Chesterfield via Norwich stopped at Whittlesea station twice to have its tenders refilled with water.
