Helsby is another station managed by Transport for Wales, despite being located well within England.

The North Cheshire Rail Users' Group has adopted Helsby and Frodsham stations and regularly ensure that they are clean and tidy. Helsby station has won the "Best Kept Station" award six times, and Frodsham twice.

The line through Frodsham was a GWR/LMS joint line; similarly, eastbound trains entering Willesden Junction HL—which was an LMS station—pass over the GWML.

Pewsey Station is mentioned in the film The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe (2005). The train evacuating the Pevensie children from London Paddington stops at a rural station which is identified by the train guard as Pewsey. In actuality, the scene was shot at Highley on the Severn Valley Railway. Even so, the film is correct in as much as any train going to Coombe Halt, the ultimate destination of the Pevensie children, would have to pass through Pewsey on its way from London Paddington.

With the increase in services serving Eastbourne, by now a popular resort, under LB&SCR Chief Engineer Frederick Banister a station was resited a little to the east in 1872. This is the current location, although it was redesigned by F D Brick, and built in 1886. Banister had a love of Italianate architecture, which is reflected in his rebuilding of various stations, including Seaford.
