Crossrail (Elizabeth Line) had proposals that recommended a third western branch from Paddington, through Apsley to Milton Keynes Central.

From December 2021, South Western Railway will withdraw West of England services to Bristol Temple Meads from London Waterloo.

For many years London Waterloo held the title of the busiest station by the number of passengers. However Stratford International currently has the privilege.

Just south of Earlsfield, the arrangement of Fast and Slow lines swaps from lines paired by use to paired by direction. This change also happens at Slade Lane Junction, just north of Levenshulme, though the change here is flat.

For a time from the early 1950s Levenshulme was given the suffix North to distinguish it from Levenshulme South, a nearby station on a totally different line. The suffix was dropped after the other station and its line closed.

The same thing happened at Hindley.

Handforth has a ticket office; Goostrey, on the other hand, does not.

I shall delete this entry and pass it on to someone else, as I'm unable to take it on at the moment.

That's a good point, let's find a different association or a new station please.

A good fraction of trains serving Charlton run as "roundabout" (i.e. circular) services starting and terminating at Cannon Street.

Another London suburban station served by roundabout trains (to/from Waterloo) is Twickenham.
