The Explore Wales Pass covers the whole of Wales, including the Marches Line, through Church Stretton, although the pass can only be purchased in person from Shrewsbury station.
Imperial Wharf was opened specifially for a modern housing development; Rainham (Essex) will, in a few months, be immediately down from such a station.
There is access to the Rainham Marshes RSPB Nature Reserve via a footbridge immediately south of the station, although Purfleet is actually the closest station.
Each morning a handful of trains start from Thorpe Bay as they are entering service from the nearby depot.
The same thing happens at the start (and end) of service at Garscadden.
Whitechapel also spent much of its life as a purely London Underground station before the arrival of National Rail trains in more recent times.
(although it is sometimes alleged London Overground likes to pretend it's not actually part of National Rail)
