The line from Strood to Maidstone West was electrified by the Southern Railway,, opening on 2nd July 1939. The rest of the line from Maidstone West to Paddock Wood was electrified under Stage 2 of the Kent Coast electrification by British Railways, opening to traffic on 18th June 1962. One of the stations on this second half of the line is Yalding.

In the posting of Wigan North Western, the only association shown was the number of platforms. No mention of association was made with its DfT category rating which I confirm to be category "B".
