In 2013 the queen traveled to St Ives on a scheduled train service the Diamond Jubilee royal train not being able to go beyond St Erth at the start of the branch

Laurencekirk is also a Scottish railway station where actual passenger numbers far exceeded those projected on opening/reopening.

Hazel Grove is another commuter station where electrification ends, which saw services provided by Scottish-built class 303 units for a time in the mid-late 1980s.

Aintree is also on the ME network and the name is also the name of a place where some sort of event resulting in masses of people is held.

Nelson is another station originally named after a local pub.

(The current Aintree station being named Aintree Sefton Arms prior to 1968.)

Preston is another station on the West Coast Main Line that used to see trains dividing/joining (seperate portions of Scotland trains to/from Liverpool and Manchester.)

Lancaster also sees TPE class 350s and 185s, is on the WCML and has a shortish branch line Westbound.

Birmingham Moor Street is another station in a conurbation which is so close to another railway station that it could only be easily differentiated by appending a street name.

Birmingham New Street also has a street name and is in Birmingham.

Clapham Junction also used to be a ****hole of a station until refurbishment works made it slightly better.

New Street Still is!

Clapham Junction is the busiest station for passenger trains and Barnetby is the busiest station for freight.
