Chathill has a similarly limited service and also lacks a direct connection to the next station down the line (for Willington see Berwick-upon-Tweed).

The station flower beds are maintained by the local Women's Institute (WI) branch. The station flower beds are also maintained by volunteers at West Runton.

Battersby is another rural station which handles through services, but which requires trains to reverse there before continuing their journey.

Bere Alston

is another station which used to be a through one but rationalisation has made it a terminus, with remaining services to reversing there to gain another branch.

Not to be confused with the nearby station, also with a DfT catgory rating of F2, opened by the Great Western Railway in 1904, St Budeaux Ferry Road

Pontypridd is another station with two platforms, served entirely by one operator, that has a ten minute frequency throughout the day.
