Morpeth has also seen unfortunate accidents [2], caused by a train taking the curve at an excessive speed.

Acklington was also opened in 1847 by the York, Newcastle and Berwick Railway.

Derby Road is another station not located anywhere near Derby but which has Derby as part of its name (albeit in Swinderby's case as part of a word rather than as a word in itself).

station is also a good walk from the town centre [although you should be able to catch a tram in the near future!]

Altrincham also has a Manchester Metrolink service that is extremely well placed for heavy-rail travellers to use in their onwards connections.

NOTE : There is already an operational Manchester Metrolink stop immediately outside Rochdale railway station that also carries the same station name.
