Gillingham (Dorset) is another 2-platform station where most train services use one platform only (the other is used only when trains need to pass at the station).

(That's an association with Ockendon, by the way...)

Whitchurch (Shropshire) also has a station with the same name elsewhere in the country (same for Adlington)

Only the Underground station is in zone 6 - the rail station cannot be reached on a Travelcard ;)


I thought that after I posted but then thought that the free transfer would be my get out of jail card although technically not in zone 6 maybe I should have put a zone 6 + boundary station for the heathrow connect upgrade fee
