I just didn't see the connection in the "Station Association" quiz between Darwen station being built by the L&Y Railway and Glossop's football team.

The fact that Glossop once had a top-flight football team has no railway significance as an answer on the Station Association quiz, but is assuredly a connection worthy of the Settlement Association quiz....unless, of course, you meant that Glossop North End had supporters who used Glossop station as part of their journey to attend the football match.

Drayton Park can be an acceptable answer on the Station Association quiz, as it allows a method of rail transport to supporters attending Arsenal football matches. The same would apply to The Hawthorns in the Midlands for the self-same reason, as this station has both heavy rail and light rail transportation for supporters attending matches played at home by West Bromwich Albion.

I can see a football, rather than a railway connection as Darwen FC were members of the Football League from 1891 to 1899 and Glossop North End FC were also members of the Football League from 1898 to 1918.

However, this connection is one that you would give on the Settlement Association quiz and not the Station Association quiz.

Paul, Welshman, I have no problem with the ruling, and I'm sorry if it came across that I did. I don't seem to get the hang of the rules about this quiz at the moment, so feel it better that I leave it rather than continually c**k it up for others.
