Sorry, but unless I'm very much mistaken, Castleton [the one next to Rochdale], is not in a National Park, therefore the comparison is invalid.

[Castleton Moor may be in a National Park; the village of Castleton [Derbys] certainly is, but that has no station, and is served by Hope or Edale.]

So, I think Castleton [the one next to Rochdale] remains the one with which to compare.

Clifton [Manchester] also used to have a junction for Bury.
