Godley is also another station that was opened in 1986, but still only accredited with lowest DfT category rating of "F2"

We seem to be stuck at Godley, so how about this?:-

Godley station replaced the old Godley Junction station, which was of strategic importance to the Manchester & Lincolnshire Railway, later GC, as the place where steam gave way to the then new DC electric traction over Woodhead.

In the same way, Penistone [further up the GC], was where electric traction gave way to steam on the journey from Sheffield Victoria to Huddersfield.

Wombwell was originally called Wombwell West, to distinguish it from Wombwell Central, which closed in 1959.

Leeds was originally called Leeds City, to distinguish it from another Central, Leeds Central, which closed in 1967.

[By the way, "Wombwell" is thought to derive from "Womba's Well" meaning "Well in a Hollow" - Sorry!]

London St Pancras International is another Network Rail-managed station which has a large number of terminating platforms, and 2 through platforms which lead at one end onto a route which can also be accessed from the terminus part of the station.
