What is important to bear in mind is the comparison between the associations given should be as different as possible from each other.

For example, if a posting notes that a station is one of a TOC's many two platform stations, the following posting stating that a station was opened by a now-defunct joint railway as long ago as 1865 has quite a different association to the previous one.

It's also worth noting that we shouldn't be deterring people from having a go at keeping quizes going by picking unecessary fault with quite acceptable postings. Not everyone has time available to research the history of stations in order to post, and just wish to participate to pass the time.

Are you saying that whatever rules and guide notes on these quiz threads actually state (usually on the very first posting on each thread), the majority of which were actually drawn up be the forum quizmaster team can be disregarded if quiz contributors feel that they are far too important to have such strictures apply to them.

I was referring more to the stations than the associations myself. I'm certainly not trying to pick people up; more trying to get a bit of variety

I don't have it in for anybody, I just feel that sometimes people are being picked up on things that aren't necessary. An association is an association whatever - as long as it isn't the same association as the previous posting then why does it matter? But at the same time is good to try and get some more original associations, and I will try to be more creative in the future. This quiz in particular is a good one for learning things!
