Newtown is also a passing loop on a single line controlled from a remote location.

Pitlochry is controlled from Stanley Junction and Newtown from Machynlleth.

There is step-free access is provided to both platforms at Pemberton station; the same applies to the station at Rainford.
Ah again have we returned to the station we've just come from?

London intercity services less frequently than hourly but more than once per day also reach Aberdeen.

In 1872, due to the increase in services serving Eastbourne, the station was relocated a little to the east and, in 1886, the station was rebuilt to designs by F.D. Brick. The rebuilt structure featured a vaulted canopy and lantern roof, similar to that of Lewes.

(My apologies, again, for repeating a station ... I think that I've got this one right!)

Newcastle is also at the centre of an x-shaped junction (at least, may be depicted as one on a National Rail route diagram).
