Speak clearly, a little slower than usual.
Be able to deal with many sources of information at once, work under pressure (think disruption).
There are regulations these days with announcing. Such as announcements must be made every 20 mins during disruption. A basic announcement would include:

1: What the problem is.
2: What the impact is.
3: When is it expected to be resolved.
4: What Customers should do.

Most likely competency based interview.

Give most examples from your previous job.
It's okay to give one or two from outside of work - something that will show a hobby or one of the skills they're looking for.

Don't say you're an enthusiast / train spotter / whatever.
The company may decide you'll be too busy spotting trains than doing the job. You just want a secure job that has opportunities to grow into many roles yes? Good.

Research the company:
What are their values? Who is the ship captain? When does the franchise end? What are their routes? What trains do they run? What awards have they had?

Location
Herts
Make the point , it can be a reactive job - so say you would (even if things are running spot on) , be looking around for any issues that might be arising (say TfL problems at Paddington) - and you would therefore be PROACTIVE for customer service.

Good luck.

Also bear in mind depending on the location you'll most likely be minding the auto announcer rather than making live announcements regularly which also comes with other jobs like liaising with the signalbox and platform staff over platform alterations and operational issues, as well as potentially managing passenger assistance which is a common job for announcers - so emphasising team working and clear comms with your colleagues as well is key.
