Hey

I just wondered if anyone could shed any light on why at Long Eaton station the automatic announcements (using the same voice used at Sheffield/Leeds/Nottingham etc) appeared to have stopped being used? Do EMT have to pay some kind of royalties for them that they no Longer feel are worth the money? It doesn't effect me too badly as the live departure screens show most of the information but I imagine they might be very useful to a blind or partiality sighted person or even just a short sighted person!

I agree station announcements are useful.

However, I was at Scarborough station the other day, the station was empty but for me and I heard announcements about baggage and security and finally an instruction not to smoke all delivered to me and a few pigeons.

I guess the governments initiative to get people on the trains instead of flying is finally working...
