It's quite common thst the SRTs (sectional running times) don't exist the *actual* stock / train which is required to operate.
A suitable alternative is substituted in to cover the section which is without SRT.

Alternatively, it can actually indicate a change in traction power en route.
Eg, a bi-mode traction unit running under diesel power to such a point where there are overhead wires where it can become electrically hauled.

It can only change between traction type at a stop though (has to be shown to stop at a particular location and cannot be shown to do 'on the move'

This specific path is 37418 and the inspection saloon Caroline, presumably on a track inspection duty. I don’t think the “changes en route” means anything, the path yesterday said it would change to a class 700 and it certainly didn’t when I saw it!

In that case it's about hitting actual SRTs to match the stock speed to enable it to be published in the "normal' fashion (ie, without special access rights).

Timing load is incidental. Just need to appropriate speed / trailing weight to ne vaguely accurate.

It saves having to have every srt under the sun in the system for either the loco type or for Caroline.
