Starting short on an anytime ticket

I have an anytime ticket valid from Leeds to Sheffield and due to a change of plans it now looks like I'd need to return from Wakefield. As it's an anytime ticket I understand I can:
"You may start, break and resume, or end your journey at any intermediate station along the route of travel."
I believe this means I can get on the train at Wakefield, is this correct? Additionally, do I need to make sure the actual train I board has come from Leeds or will any train from Wakefield to Sheffield be ok?

Correct, yes. Doesn't matter where the train came from.

Just confirming the reply - you may make any part(s) of the journey on an Anytime ticket within its period and Permitted Routes of validity. It does not matter which train(s) you use to do so. The only thing you can't do is make part of the journey more than once, or "go backwards" i.e. on A-B-C-D do C-D before A-B(-C).

Thanks, in the end this was an anytime single so that wouldn't apply. Thanks for your help everyone. The guard accepted they ticket from Wakefield without question.
