That's what you're looking at doing. And you can hardly expect to be able to support any sort of bridge with buttresses if you're building in a reservoir, so good luck with that...

Could always make a tunnel or buy the part you need off United Utilities.

I'm with you up to a point there, but I'm afraid that "Come friendly bombs, and fall on Stevenage" doesn't really scan.

That looks very nice. It would need to be wide enough to carry a high-speed line, though...
