STAR Mobile Training?

Hi All,

Has any one heard of STAR Mobile training?

Just wondered what it was, I'm due to start my training with GWR soon.

STAR mobile is the name of the new ticket machines - smaller printers than the old Avantix and controlled from your mobile phone, hence the name. STAR is the collective name for the ticketing software in use with GWR and several other (if not all) TOCs

Ah okay thanks! So do conductors get issued with mobile
Phones as standard?

On my local TOC, guards get a mobile phone to recieve emails and phone calls from control, as well as that, their ticketing software (envoy) is run on an S6 Samsung phone. This machine is returned to the depot every day, but the other phone is kept by the employee at all times.
