Just an update on this weekends second and last 2010 public operation of the
10 1/4" SMR at Stapleford Park Melton LE14 2SF and miniature steam rally supporting LOROS
Restored and operated by volunteers, the nearly 2 mile heavily engineered line will have 5 locos in steam both days (subject to any failures)
These are the :
1/5th scale NKP Berks 2-8-4, NYC Niagara 4-8-4, GWR Saint 4-6-0, and Curwen Atlantic JHG 4-4-2.
And the recently built 1/4 scale (metre guage) Oil fired Vulcan works 31 Class 2-8-4 of the East African Railways and Harbours
The Curwen and Saint will double head but all other locos will be running unassisted. It is envisaged to have all locos in action before lunch with first train out at 10-00. Running until tea time. Car parking next to the tunnel bank with access back and forth from rally field
Also Ravenstone model railways attending with various guage railway stock and model tent. Licensed bar with local Grainstore real ales
Gates open 10-00 sunday and BH monday 29th 30th Aug
£3 per car (note small charge for trains)
