We are pleased to announce two open weekends at the private 10 1/4" Stapleford miniature Railway in East leics near Melton Mowbray during 2010
The historic railway has a fleet of 6 steam locos(only 5 in operation in 2010 as Jubilee needs new boiler) including two powerful North Americans and a unique brand new 1/4 scale metre gauge East African oil burner
The line was first laid down in 1958 and is one of the most scenic and heavily engineered 10 1/4 lines in the UK recently opening a new station based on the S and C buildings
The first event is over saturday and sunday 19th and 20th June and features the railway alongside a full size steam rally
The second is over August BH sun and Mon 29th 30th August
with vintage vehicles miniature steam traction engines showmans model railway suppliers and demonstrations. The vintage caravan club is attending and aiming to create a world record for number of vintage caravans on one site only £3 per car gates open 10-00 till tea
weekend camping is available at both events with hot and cold catering and licensed bars open day and evening
Both events support LOROS the local hospice
