Stansted -> Luton

Is there a cheaper way of travelling from Stansted to Luton and back with an overnight break of journey in both directions? Hold a YP railcard.

8th Jan at approx 23:30 Stansted Airport -> Bromley-by-Bow
9th Jan at approx 07:00 Bromley-by-Bow -> Luton Airport

11th Jan at approx 23:00 Luton Airport -> Bromley-by-Bow
12th Jan at approx 16:00 Bromley-by-Bow -> Stansted Airport

I really don't feel like paying £44.50 for the SSD-LUA Anytime Return :roll:

Although you'd have to book each part as a separate trip, you might find some bargains on the easyBus website. You could even do half the journey by rail and half by easyBus.

Their own minibuses run from Liverpool Street to Luton Airport:

They sell tickets on National Express from Stratford and other points to Stansted Airport:

If you don't mind using local (day) buses you could buy an Intalink Explorer for £8.50 each day, although the Intalink website advises the Explorer is not valid on night buses :roll:

For the 9th Jan:

depart 0255 sxConnect (Arriva) bus 510 from Stansted Airport Coach Stn, Bay 26

to

arrive 0344 Harlow Town Centre, Bus Stn, Stand 3

transfer to

depart 0430 Green Line (Arriva) bus 724 (towards Heathrow Central Bus Stn)

to

arrive 0544 St Albans, St Peter's Street, Stop 5

transfer to

depart 0601 Metroline Travel bus 714 (towards Luton Stn Interchange)

get off at

arrive 0630 Luton Airport Bus Stn

Lot less time consuming but more risk involved with changes! If you are using it to connect flights the Jetlinks 737/777 would be a much safer bet.

As above. I assume Bromley via Bow is mandatory for the OP.

Given that Stansted-London alone is £32 return, I can't see an obvious saving, but there are forum member who know London fares better.

Are they a subsidiary of easyJet? The website looks very similar.

I found the following clause in their T&C rather unnerving:

We reserve the right to alter any timetables or suspend, cancel, withdraw or substitute any easyBus Service or terminate an easyBus Service once it has commenced, without notice whether before or after you have made a Booking.
