Hey,
Well. Today saw some of the first mainline steam locomotive action in Scotland outside of Glasgow ( excluding the Jacobites. ). So technically, what I am saying is the first steam west of the WCML and north of the border. Anyway, I had to go see this...I consider Scotland as my turf...and so if anything major happens....I have to make an attempt to see it.
However, last night it looked bleak and I wouldn't be going.....however my mum's boyfriend ended up getting the afternoon off and was wanting to take me to go see it ( very thankful to him for doing that ). So, managing to get the last 1/2 hour of school off after one of my prelims...I raced home and then headed up north.
The train was due in Pitlochry by 16:47....but came in about 14:51....and because it's scheduled departure time was 16:57, it seemed there was no point for it to stop...and with a clear track ahead...it raced through. I managed to get a video and photographs there....and also 10 mile north as well:

Hope You Like Them. I think I might be one of a few people to get photos of it in Scotland....only saw about 5 other cars with a few photographers dotted around the some 40 miles of Highland Mainline I passed.
Thankfully....this shows what is becoming a revival of tours around Scotland outside of the West Highland Line. We have about 4 or 5 days of the Great Briton railtour up here ( which I will also be following ). And also, with 60009 and 61994 being based at Thornton, it opens up a wide range of ideas. The SRPS has already confirmed a railtour with 60009 for the 18th Of August which goes from Linlithgow, over the Forth Rail Bridge and round the Fife Circle ( going through my home town! ), and via Kincardine on to the new Alloa - Stirling line to the latter....which I will be traveling on if all goes to plan.
Anyway, lots for us in Scotland to look forward to this year. And please leave any comments or criticism ( constructive please ).
