Can anyone explain why the day return tickets from SMD - PBO are priced as follows?

ANYTIME DAY RETURN £ 6-50 (Valid on any train)
OFFPEAK DAY RETURN £ 6-60 (Code BX valid after 0930 and not between 1530 & 1815 Monday - Friday)

I wonder who buys a more restricted ticket for 10p more?

:D Looks like a foul-up!

N.B. The first class anytime day return fare quoted for this journey seems very expensive in comparison at £15-50 against the £6-50 quoted for a standard anytime day return!

In theory no-one should ever be sold it from a ticket office/conductor. Online sites sort the fares by price so in theory no-one should get one online. Perhaps from a ticket machine if they're in a rush and just see "Off Peak".

Anyway those fares are....
