ITV News said:
Shadow rail minister Jonathan Reynolds has resigned from the Labour front bench in the wake of Jeremy Corbyn's first reshuffle.

In a letter to the leader posted on Facebook, Mr Reynolds referenced the sacking of shadow Europe minister Pat McFadden - who party sources said had been removed from his post for "disloyalty", thought to be linked to comments in the wake of the Paris terror attacks.

I didn't even realise he was Shadow Rail Minister, I wonder who his replacement will be.

What was that message - oh, women-only carriages wasn't it? ;)

Don't forget Conservative Minister Claire Perry suggested that before Corbyn got in but as soon as Labour suggested it Perry decided she'd already looked in to it and decided it wasn't a viable option.

Lilian Greenwood is still Shadow Transport Minister, who is knowledgeable and experienced on rail matters (and is on the Transport Select Committee).
Michael Dugher has also gone from the Shadow Cabinet, and he was Shadow Rail Minister until September.
He is getting a good press today for standing up to Corbyn, but he was one of the architects of the manifesto plans for rail renationalisation.
I thought these were badly though out and frankly unworkable.
But it's still the policy.

Michael Dugher was actually Transport Minister with Lilian Greenwood Rail Minister but in the first Corbyn reshuffle he moved Dugher away from transport and promoted Greenwood. Apparently no-one really wanted to be Shadow Transport Minister in the run up to the last election as there were suggestions Adonis would be offered the role of Transport Minister again if Labour won the election.

Shadow Bus minister, perhaps? :);)

Which leads to the question as to how long the Shadow Bus Replacement Minister will be in place before we get an actual Shadow Rail Minister again?

I really hope that this bustitution is short lived!

Jonathan Reynolds' replacement as shadow rail minister is Andy McDonald (Middlesbrough).
He campaigned to keep East Coast in public hands.

Andy McDonald is a decent guy - A senior solicitor for Thompsons (national solicitors with lots of TU work) for a long time, well respected locally, lots of good work in the community - not sure of his connection with transport or rail in particular

Dugher was a petrolhead who had three points on his license, and pledged to end the "war on the motorist".

It wasn't the best pick for a Labour party who ****ed up the Transport brief under Blair (before getting it back under control under Brown and Adonis), and was a good representation of the lack of ideas that Miliband's Labour had.
