If you had a faster shutter speed then the only good one there would have been number three. Others are either tilted or have a branch in the way. Try another location

This isn't a flip book you know... maybe a little more zoomed out on the Shed or let it get closer to the edge of the frame. But from these shots, I'd avoid going away shots as there too much in the way and not enough train!

Of course you don't have to take the advice, but at least I am giving some *ahem* JDS.

Some advice - ask Network Rail to remove the bufferstops/signs and the tree that is getting in the way.

Shot Number 1 - Issues here with composition (without the bufferstop it would be okay) and also exposure

Shot Number 2 - This has a lot of potential, but the piece of tree in the way really spoils it.

Shot Number 3 - Isn't too bad, it is more interesting than a usual shot of a 458 anyway.

Shot Number 4 - Pressed the shutter way too early, also needs some rotation and that tree is there again.

Shot Number 5 - Would be good if the post wasn't there, the tree wasn't there and it was at the correct angle (although the latter can be fixed in PS or whatever).

Shot Number 6 - Least said the better.

Basically, my advice is - find a better location.

You know what? An example here of excellent feedback and about time too. Well done sir, and i pretty much agree with thefab442 on this one Fred. Shots 3, 4 & 5 are the better shots, i personally wouldn't have even posted 1, 2 & 6 as i try to be selective and self critical of my shots.

Regarding that branch, it looks like its only a few meters infront of your position and is only overhanging the track with the actual tree behind the fence, couldn't you get access the area by the tree and remove the offeding Branch? Of course legally without tresspassing on either the railway or someone elses land. And if you can't remove the Branches then definately find another position nearby.

Keep it up young Fred, you'll get better.
