Unsure if it is true as it was on social media, but it appears West Coast Motors are not accepting Stagecoach tickets on the X19. You would have thought there would have been some notice and a handover period like the First X25.

This was posted by Stagecoach on Friday, not giving much notice tbh. The service is still registered on the Western Buses licence unless there has been a late licence change not through yet, so surely it has to accept Stagecoach tickets?

Some say the Enviro400MMC's will be operating the X19 others say the Enviro200MMC's (Stagecoach's) so it could be that they just have WCM own ticket machines in them now hence them not tracking as the X74 is still tracking.

Some say the Enviro400MMC's will be operating the X19 others say the Enviro200MMC's (Stagecoach's) so it could be that they just have WCM own ticket machines in them now hence them not tracking as the X74 is still tracking.

Why does there have to be a notice? The common Joe won’t be aware that the Stagecoach X19 is now being operated from West Coast Motors’ operating depot and that it’s business as usual for them.

I think there is some confusion with bus enthusiasts as all vehicles on X19 have WCM ticketer machines but that is the only difference to the public. The service still operates as it did before there is no change to the public and they should be none the wiser about it

Makes you wonder why the service isn’t now registered as a WCM one if they intend on using their own fleet. Though I imagine this will happen in time anyway.

Try telling that to the passengers who bought Flexi tickets or loaded their smart cards last week who can no longer use them now as they are not being accepted this week, surely the company has a duty to inform passengers of changes to ticketing arrangements before being implemented.

Also the fact that the X19 is no longer tracking at all I'd say it's not business as usual for passengers.

It was originally to be called South Glasgow University Hospital but was renamed on its official state opening, but yeah plenty of time has passed to get it's name right before posting the notice.

Sounds like the machines are not set up to read QR codes. They should be manually checked by drivers and allowed to travel.

Stagecoach machines don't have QR scanners anyway

Deckers that went to Barrow are on their way back for the X19 10918 SN67 XAK appeared back at Cumbernauld and was sent out on the X19 today, E200MMCs going in the opposite direction I'm led to believe, So is the X19 is basically sub contracted to WCM since they have WCM fleet numbers internally and using Ticketers rather than the VIX machines?

The deckers that went to Barrow were meant to be short term loans en-route to Devon.

I was aware of X25 change and Cumbernauld depot closure but was unaware of impact on X19. I've already seen quite a few single deck "Borders Buses" X19s running around this week.
But only commenting to share an experience from this afternoon to highlight that there is areal impact on passengers.

Passenger boarded X19 (stagecoach vehicle, west coast driver) and was refused with his Glasgow Tripper ticket because it was loaded in the First app. Driver seemed unaware of what a Tripper ticket was, despite clear explanation from passenger and showing it for visual inspection. Glasgow Tripper tickets can be used on most of the main Glasgow bus operators' services (including Stagecoach and West Coast Motors) and I had to intervene and back the passenger up to make the point to the driver that his ticket was valid. Driver was unhelpful and unnecessarily rude. Not a great experience, and I have heard some other experiences anecdotally of problems with ticket acceptance.
None of the X19s have been trackable (at least that I have been able to get to show) so there is no easy way to know if a bus will turn up - particularly frustrating has always been problematic in terms of reliability and sticking to the timetable in my experience.

This has a real world impact on passengers and does nothing to attract people to public transport.

It sounds like they have taken some drivers who would drive the 15, 17 and been put on the x19 Against thier wishes and the drivers are not happy.

Strange situation. I thought the X19 was still a Stagecoach route. Is the X74 still all Stagecoach?

I remember a driver on a Lothian Bus service refused my plus bus ticket in a similar vain.
