I'm wondering if its worth giving feedback to stagecoach on this. I'd love to take the bus to the rail station stop for my commute but, from my limited experience on buses, the connections are really poor, especially considering it's a large town with one central rail station.

The town bus services works on a hub and spoke model i believe, and the rail station is close but a ~10 minute walk away but it's not nice when you are carrying things.

All routes bar 2 are west side, and for 1 that does serve the east, it is a very limited stop (probably 2 stops a day). The other serves just the hospital which is quite central even if east.

Meanwhile coventry seems to do it great. If Northampton could link it as part of the town centre / bus station section for most routes like Coventry it would be much better isn't it?

My bus from north Northampton (Acre Lane) did have a period a few years ago when it ran directly to the railway station (after an extended stop in the town centre) and also on to the rugby and football grounds then to Duston. I found this service very useful and did contact Stagecoach when the service was cut back to the town centre only. Their response was that traffic levels in the town meant that they could not guarantee the timetable for the service. In the 1980s the Acre Lane service did have an hourly (I think) service to the railway station, the 21.
