16351 is now awaiting a one-way trip to Barnsley following its failure; it's on the disposal list. Meanwhile 33171/2 have come back off disposals

I don't understand why disposal of the two Marshalls has been refused...

Will keep my eyes open for 16103. I thought me might take it to replace 14196 but it was not to be. Wonder how long the Leyland will last!

Bus crashes into Manchester pub injuring driver.

Firefighters have cut an injured driver from his cab after his bus crashed into a pub in Manchester.

The bus hit the Bull's Head, on the corner of London Road and Granby Row, at 11:55 GMT.

Paramedics treated the driver, thought to be in his 50's, before fire officers freed him using cutting gear. He has been taken to the Manchester Royal Infirmary with suspected back injuries.

The pub's landlord Keith Wilan said the bus caused "a hell of a bang".

No-one within the pub was injured and the cause of the crash is unknown.

Greater Manchester police have put in place traffic restrictions and London Road is closed from Fairfield Street to the Mancunian Way.

Bus operator Stagecoach said it believed the bus was empty apart from the driver, as it had not begun its service.

The Bull's Head has been closed while the structural damage to the building is assessed.

Mr Wilan said it was "devastating" and that it was "almost like an explosion".

"All the pictures came off the wall and then the wall came flying in," he said.

"It was lucky it wasn't five minutes later, because we had a party of 13 booked into that area."

Lets hope, that it last longer then 16351. Also that it is more relaible then 16661 & 16662 are.

Bored on a Saturday night, so thought I'd post some West Cumbria news that hasn't made the forum for any other members. :)

Arrival of 27766 and 27767 have displaced Pointer Darts from 30/31 onto the Workington-Keswick extra X5's (in turn have displaced B10M's 20913 and 20945 from service) - although the case, the odd B10M is still finding its way onto 30/31 alongside the MAN E300's, 22104/8 and 17017.

Clunky 47023 was replaced on Moorclose today, hopefully for its own sake as I'm surprised its gearbox hasn't fallen out yet! Also having engine trouble with it regularly dipping and wanting to cut out (also the case when moving....).
47007 yesterday added to the cooling fan list with 47754 now way infront as the worst sounding Solo I reckon at Lillyhall!
15685 still sounds like a roadsweeper with its cooling fan also....

And 16714 has came to many peoples attension with its new seats after its long refurb period, one would hope it comes back on fleet.

Don't think its been mentioned on here but for the sake of the forum, Bike Bus MAN's 22140/1 are in storage at LL after repaint for KL.

[boredom update over ]

Spotted Preston Based Trident 18159 heading through Greaves yesterday on what I think was a private contact for the Muslims girls school on Ashton Road.

Also spotted 16103 for the first time this afternoon on the 42.

Due to a a fatal accident on Brampton Road in Carlisle today traffic was chaos.

34219 (Or 34221 cannot remember) left at 17.40 on the 79 to Dumfries to keep the service on time.

34704 on the 61 with a 60 branded Dart on the 66. There was also a 79 branded Enviro on what seemed to be the 38.

The Carlisle ones were done as the route was being changed with VOSA anyway so they dropped the 2 sets of numbers. The 79/179/379 will be staying the same.

First time today that one of Lillyhall's new ADL E300's was off 30/31 and elsewhere. 27767 made the short 302 this afternoon after 20910 failed to start in the bus station.

27767 had been pulled from an early 30/31 the looks of things, but came down NIS from depot to do short 302's - 20923 was on 30/31.

Whats on the displays varies by driver. 2 I've noted in Carlisle have been "Cockermouth 600 For 600 to Carlisle", and "Whitehaven 600" straight away in Carlisle.
20918 at least still has 601 programmed in.
As far as I'm aware, the change was never noted on the Stagecoach website, and the timetable on there still says it changes number at Cockermouth. On the plus side though, Stagecoach website is now split from North West to Cumbria & North Lancashire.
