If 300 was half hourly, I'd rather have 22600 on than a Scania  22600 was an excellent ride on 300, just wasn't fun having all 46 seats taken, uni bag squashed on my legs in the very tight legroom, with a crowd of standee's huddling together at the front as well. At least on a Scania, there's a bit of space to get my bag on the floor when someone needs to sit next to me.

Standees are standard here now be it in the morning evening or middle of the day!

Had a ride on Scan 15729 this afternoon and was very nice, not sold on the coach seats though, maybe just need breaking in lol!

Best coach seats with Stagecoach I've found, as annoying it is, are on the old Jonck's  Find the ones on our Profile's, which seem very similar to the Scania's, always feel a bit hard, just like the high back seats on our Scania's.

You surprised me there Dallamlad, as a number of my regular passengers have said that they find that the seats on the new buses on the 555's are more comfortable then the ones on the 40's

47007 went onto Harrington & Seaton after 47005 died at the stand early this afternoon, caused a bit of a blockage when that was dead at the stand, then a Harrington and a Seaton were both in at the same time, trying to get to the old 47 stand when there was a 30/31 in as well.

Bit of n off day for the 2a's today. Spotted two running together through Bowerham at about 2pm then 5 mins later another one came up heading in the same direction. Later I saw another two travelling together. Not sure whether they are just late or whether road works somewhere are holding them all up!

Could be the roadworks at skerton bridge holding up the traffic as the temp lights take ages to change and all traffic is using the bus lane instead of the usual lane as it is shut off and down to one lane until after the bridge.

Yeah thought that myself!

Also I remember Gez hinting a while back that ME may be in line to have a MANEcocity on trial...any updates?

These roadworks were due to been finished by yesterday (Saturday). I hope they not on for much longer, as this will cause mayhem to school buses!!!!

From The Bay:
FROM THE NEWSROOM: Heysham Road crash update - we understand that four people have been injured in the incident and taken to hospital, but there were no fatalities. We've also been told although the Air Ambulance attended, it wasn't required. Police still haven't officially released exact details of circumstances, but of course when they do we'll let you know.

A V reg Trident was sat at front of a dead lane at LL early this afternoon, it had moved by mid-afternoon, assume it went into bodyshop to get the roof chopped.

16649 has spent the afternoon on Moorclose 51.

Buses in Lancaster going round with 'new fares in operation' labels in the windows, not seen that for a while, even if the students are getting the better bargain.

Lillyhall's 47024 at Carlisle being repanelled.
16343 being prepared for paint too, and Preston's 47673 in a dead lane.

It would appear 33076 is one of the minibuses to be withdrawn for the winter, it is parked up in the dead lanes. All of the others were out in service, with 47722 in workshops.

Some odd workings today around Lancaster

Trident 18357 work the 10.20 555 from Lancaster
Olympian 16877 on 2's.
MAN 22827 on 4's.
A couple of Tridents on 40's/41's.
A Scania on 46X Garstang High School.
Also a Scania on 55A's, possible the same one as the 46X early.

Optare Versas 25228 & 25231 have both lost their route 84 branding and are now in plain Stagecoach livery as per 25226. It was hard to tell if the pair had been re-painted. There was already a layer of muck over both buses, but then there was little evidence of the branding.

Former Kendal based ALX400 18366 is now in service at Preston. It was noted leaving the bus station on a 68 to Blackpool.

Also at the bus station, but not in service, was William Wordsworth vinyl ALX400 18356.

34679 made it out into service today, on 93's. Looks good with its fresh repaint and retrim.

Morecambe's 22814 in bodyshops, LL's 47024 still sat outside with some panels missing, and CE's 16343 been shoved down into the back corner. 34705 was in bodyshop with 22814.
Caught a glimpse of an Oly in the paintshop as well, no idea which one or whose it is. It looked Alexander RL but can't be too sure.

All six were moved south ysterday afternoon, The odd allocations with the Scanias were due to me jiggling about trying to keep the Preston service going after the M6 was shut.

In view of the Tridents that have moved from Kendal to Preston following introduction of the Scanias onto the 555 Service, are we to expect a number of N Reg Olympians coming up to Morecambe for either long term store (to be used during the Olympics), or are they likely to be getting sold on quite quickly. Have also noticed that J208HFR is still left on the back fence, is this going to be sold or kept for cover during the Olympics next year as well when all the Low Floor vehicles head to London?

Supposedly the N regs were going from Preston to Kendal, however I believe that's not happening now.
I would imagine they're staying for Olympics cover, although some of the more knackered ones may be on a one-way trip to Wigleys.

14208 is down as Olympics cover.

Any idea why Kendal have "turned down" the offer of the Olympians - mind you they have had a hard life and quite a few are apparantly pretty knackered. Wonder if it is a capacity issue - what is the difference between the Volvo and Leyland Olypians?
