Overheated at Rugby I believe, absolutely massive water leak.

Just shows what a state these are in...

Typical London Buses... Never used to going over 25mph... Tired Cummins engine coupled to an absolutely useless voith gearbox... no good for motorways, or cumbria for that matter! first sign of any load *BANG* Just look at LL's 17017!!

AFAIK 17017 is getting a brand new engine, but retaining the london 3speed voith that seems to be the cause of the latest issues!! stick a 4 speed ZF in i say... Proof is in the pudding - K-DAO B10M's survived for 16+years on our terrain with their 4speed ZF's... R-XVM's with 3 speed voiths are virtually dead after just 2 years!!!

What i am basically saying is, it is most likely the gearboxes causing the knock on effect to the engine!!

Lillyhall's XVM ones might be dead but Carlisle's were still going strong until the decided to swap them for the Green Road fitted ESA's. 20924 & 20977 were cracking buses. 20944/59/60 all still goin great at Carlisle too. Must admit 20907 is sounding rather rough for some reason.

Any news on which ME ALX300 is at CE for paint? Wonder if 20710 will retain it's branding...

Most long distance services running late today. 20923 was shoved onto X4/X5 this afternoon, running it as a 5 vehicle service. 20902 ended up on a full length 300-302 as well, will be 17:10 from Carlisle. 20473 has been doing 302 catch up's between Workington and Whitehaven.
20913 short 302's.
34616 was Moorclose 51, then done 14:15 48.

Still have no idea but was awaiting collection a couple of days ago parked behind the School Runner which is waiting for space in the paintshop.

The XVM's at CE are fine vehicles... but remember... less hills!! Voiths don't like hills!

I would say TA17 is indeed unsuited to West Cumbria.
However, the poor state of the current batch of ex-London Tridents I would attribute to the poor maintainence in place under ELBG as they tried to cut costs (Is it driveable? Yes - no action required). All it takes is a few hours of constant running for hoses to shake loose/fail due to perishing.

Agreed... They need a major shakedown before entering service, which i'm sure the Cumbria ones will have by either LL or CE... (Most likely LL)

Think the trip from LL to CE (for paint) and back should be shakedown enough! Or for any Kendal, Preston (or even possibly Morecambe!) based examples there's a nice trip down the M6

Would appear that short Trident 17246 has been rejected by NW, it's back on London's disposal list (and no, it's not a mistake - it's shown as moving back in the moves column too!)

When I used to work as a London bus driver, our buses regular went fast then 25mph! Some of our routes had roads with 40mph limits on them.

Lillyhall's private hire coach 52635, day trip to Blackpool. It should be there every Saturday until October half term I think now, but would have to check the day trip list when I can find it.

What's the latest regarding the Reays v stagecoach battle in Carlisle. One source has said Reays are cancelling a lot of services, and reducing frequencies on others. In addition, older vehicles are being brought in to replace newer vehciles. So what's the latest?

Changes to Lillyhall's service 58 are on the council website. Few minor timetable adjustments, and the Cockermouth - Bridekirk - Tallentire route will now be numbered 58A.

Also, the 2037 Cockermouth - Workington via Broughton Moor, it has been put on the new X4/X5-X50 timetable as an X5, but it has been registered as, and is on the timetable for, 35. Not sure what is going on there?

Don't think they have quite managed all of them yet. 22804/06 haven't been done lately but look a lot fresher then the others did actually...not sure which other haven't been done.

Ahhhh well then if that is indeed the case ME might start on doing the rest of the Tridents, or a few solos, or actually the Versas but they're OK I think

The buses that i think need doing;
17023(if staying)18324,18327(back end repaint),18328,18330,18375,18380 and 18381.
Most of the solos have been repainted apart from the new ones, think someone said that the 51 plates are going to chorley and 21005(if staying).

Indeed 17023 looking tatty as you say and then the varies 2005s. Think we'll only have one 51 plate solo left soon and I hope 21005 isn't staying but seeing as they put an LED in it it could be around for some time. But then of course it could just stay on until after the Olympics, we'll see

22823 up at Carlisle for repaint at the moment with seats removed. 17283 is still awaiting collection while 17271 is still on the pit. There is an Olympian in the body shop and would seem to be 16397. 47487 is also here for painting.

Meanwhile, for the first time Western are using Jonk 526725 on the X75 and it looks smart with its LED and recent repaint.

NEW - BUSES TO DIVERT VIA DOBBIES GARDEN WORLD, ORTON GRANGE, CARLISLE, STARTING MONDAY 26TH SEPTEMBER 2011.

Stagecoach is pleased to announce, that following customer requests and discussions with Dobbies, our 38 (Silloth) service will be diverting into Dobbies Garden World from 26th September. There will also be one journey on the 600 (Cockermouth) service which will also divert, at 0940 ex. Carlisle.

Most journeys will divert from the main road (A595) and into Dobbies grounds, stopping close to the main entrance. We hope customers find this new link useful.

Revised timetable leaflets will be available soon and also to download from our website.
