Emerged from bus station at ten to one to see a bit of a traffic jam. Round the corner to hear the plaintive call of a bus not starting......

I would have lent a hand but I was meeting someone - honest!
'scuse the quality - first trip out with a recently 'donated' camera phone.

A UID Scania, 16124, 16184 and 16734 on annexe.
20910 and 20994 were on there earlier this afternoon.
The Scania came up Vulcans Lane not in service at 13:25.

20473 on 47 with 47061.
20962 on ASDA Free Bus.

If it is the case that 3 Olys will be leaving LL I wonder where they will end up. I'm not really sure if their is a place for short, refurbed, N reg Olys in the region...

Will be interesting to see what happens. Suppose Barrow or Kendal could always end up as a likely destination for them if they stay in the region.

BA maybe but I would have thought KL wouldn't be a great place for them with them been short and with them having high seats. Would be a bit of a waste.

Being short shouldn't be a problem. They seat 75, the same as the Tridents, which also end up on school work at KL anyways.
High back seats wouldn't really be an issue either. BA use high back seat Oly's on schools (16332/4/5/9/40), along with old style DP seated 16325/6. Not really ideal for schools, but KL will probably end up using them on summer 555's as well.

Why refurb Olys for school work? They would essentially be on school a majority of them time and SC must have known this for a while so why refurb the last Oly? Saying that this is SC lol. I think it's more likely that they will leave the region.

Theory on the N--LTNs; movement to Preston to displace LWB Olys to Kendal.
If true, this suggests Preston would be having new vehicles in the medium-long term.

Gez appeared to be on some sort of service monitoring mission this afternoon - I saw times being logged for everything and I think Kendal got told that the 1620 was 6 late. I'll let Gez confirm for sure.

Ado 16 - were you taking pictues at the bus station at about 1630? Saw someone take a picture of 18372 with a camera phone.

That well could be the case. If that does happen I hope the ex Newcastle Olys get paint lol. I'm sure we'll find out soon what the grand plan is!!!

 And the poor driver was yours truely! 21003 decided it didn't like the thought of a Kirkby and a 942 with myself later on and decided to cut out on leaving the bus station and wouldn't restart. A motley crew of drivers and staff was assembled to push bus, driver and around 15 passengers back on to the bus station where it couldn't block up Lancaster and Gez quickly scrambled 20540 to replace it. All in all left Kirkby only 5 minutes down. As it happened 20133 replaced 20540 for the 942 after 20540 late running off the 49 it does in between the Kirkby and school run.
(Note the one hand Gez is using in the second pic: aka bloke in yellow jacket)!

The rundown before withdrawals perhaps? Or a repeat of 21004 in 2009 (?) when it ran out of fuel?

Yeah, but they have painted them red when they should be orange to match the new stagecoach corporate seat trim.

15686. It was one the annex for some photos in relation to the Charity Walk for Help the Heroes campaign.

Sighting of the day was Reays Plaxton Primo KX57 FKV on CC Contracted 35/36.

Thats probaly why I seen 15683 going past Southfield Technology college on Wednesday then lol.

And with the primo on 35/36 it's not the only time it's been on there either, I memtioned a occasion when i seen a primo on it I said: "They are better than having the usual breadvans on 35/36"

Yes I noticed that casual "One handed push" later. :) I was surprised how quickly you all got it moving - it only seems a slight slope back onto the main road there. Good job! Lucky there was only a few cars behind by the time I'd walked round from the station entrance.

Your sighting of 15683 on Wednesday is very likely to be from a private job. A small group from a local primary school had a depot visit, with a Scania being their transport to and from the depot. It was St Mary's primary school, hence it going past Southfield.

47006 and 47062 was Harrington, 34218 has since replaced 47062.
I think 20473 is still Seaton with 20962.
16331 done 48.
14234 on 50.
47062 has replaced 20923 on 51.
20923 has replaced 34215 on short 300.
53336,53337,53338 and 20436 on X4/X5.
Only seen 15684 on long 300.
35248 on 30/31.
52628, 16331, 14258 and 35246 been on annexe.
47617 on 58 Maryport - Cockermouth.
20994 on LL, 600.

I wonder if we will see any of the new E400's vinyled? Should probably get some fots of the Tridents before they move on.

Feb service change to 79/179:
79 and 179 to run present routes between Carlisle and Annan Bus Station. 79's to then change route number to 379 Annan - Dumfries, removing need of a tacho between Carlisle and Dumfries.

Expected service changes in April (NOT confirmed):
300: Slight timetable change to improve service reliability. 5 mins extra running time to Whitehaven, and 5 mins extra running time to Workington (gets to Whitehaven 5 minutes later than present, and leaves 5 minutes earlier than present). Route split Carlisle - Maryport and Maryport - Whitehaven / W.C. Hospital (remove need for tacho vehicle).
600: Route split Carlisle - Cockermouth and Cockermouth - W.C. Hospital / Frizington.
X4/X5: Both to follow current routes between Workington and Keswick. Route number change at Keswick for onward travel to Penrith (would be nice if it was numbered X50, like the good old days!), again removing tacho need.
NEW Workington - Cockermouth X5: Providing a half hourly service between Workington and Cockermouth.
73/73A: Minor timetable changes
554: Slight timetable change. Might have been a route split, can't remember.
555/556: Summer timetable re-introduced.
78: Summer timetable re-introduced.
77/77A: Re-introduced for summer season.
38: Introduction of summer only Sunday timetable.
108: Summer only Sunday timetable re-introduced.
505: Summer timetable. Full route Windermere - Coniston.
516: Slight timetable change.
517: Re-introduced for summer season.
599: Back to open top operation. Full route again, with increased frequency for summer.

Yeah i'm just against it thats all I just don't think it suits the new seat trim.

Don't mind the orange rails with the newer blue interior, but with the older grey interiors the red ones looked better.
Weren't they all orange before they were painted red about 15 years ago....?

I want to see our Scania's get vinyl "West coast connect vinyl" or something.

And have you heard any rumours that Kendal are getting new Scania's for the 555 route? I have but I dunno if it's true or not.
