Wonder what the W---DNO's have in store for us!

I'm Back! (in a fashion!) Currently sat in Harrogate on a 2-day training course!

I heard the W-DNO Dart fly past on tuesday, running Moorclose circulars... flew down Annie Pit Lane quite well, and definately sounded the part! i had to do a double-take, as with be being temporarily without T'Internet (Those two Dreaded Letters ~ B & T), i had no knowledge of it's presence!!

Also, i was very happy to be cruising through Kendal this morning, prior to collecting two colleagues, and saw the CMS liveried Olympian running Schools! First time i've seen it since CE's May open day... and had no camera at hand! Still... Made my week! :p

Everyone missed a strange working today. A Scania not sure witch run the 1455 Blackpool via Ripley. That never happens on a tuesday when i do Blackpool.

One of the 60-reg'd ones were on a Ripley School service in the morning!, it was turning around at Caspian Way at abt 8.37, by the time i was going over the railway bridge nr. Ripley it was pulling away.

Saw a Scania on a late 2 service outside Scale Hall Spar earlier this week too. Still, I expect they get bored with Preston all the time.... ;)

Lillyhall's OM has scooped an award for his work during last year's floods;

http://www.stagecoachgroup.com/scg/media/press/pr2010/2010-11-08/

North West are shortlisted for the Bus in the Countryside award at the UK Bus awards. (I assume for Kendal's Tridents)

Good for him!

Had 14196 on the 42 this afternoon. As you would expect it was cold, slow and the gear changes were far from smooth but still a great ride :) It also still has "in Lancashire" on the side which I haven't noticed before.

21004 on X1
MAN and 40033 at the University.
21005 on short 3
Versa (25233 I think) on 89 again.

Also here is a pic of an ex London bendy on trial in Liverpool with Arriva.

http://james2355.fotopic.net/p62983777.html

I'm not sure whether they are still planning to use them as I've heard nothing about it recently but I believe they are to take 20 in the new year. I assume that SC will try and sell off the bendies they now have in service in London and those in storage. However they are proving very hard to get rid of with most of the withdrawn ones sitting in storage. I've found an ex SC example for sale here:

http://www.bendy-bus.com/pages/products/mercedes/citaro_1.html

There is a vehicle spec PDF at the bottom if anyone is interested.

I know its not SCNW but I found it interesting so thought I'd post it :)

It would seem I have posted the same information twice as I thought the forum had the deleted the last one and so wrote it twice sorry!!!

20923 and 35246 on Seaton.
47024 and 47617 on Harrington.
34218 on Moorclose 50.
20962 on Moorclose 51.
16651, 17017 and 35248 on 30 and 31.
20436 on X5.
20945 on ASDA Free Bus.
47007 staff shuttles, then sat on the annexe, while step entrances were still on town services.

ended up riding on 34218 again. it didn't like the full load with a standee! it still moved well, but not as well as it did on wednesday when I was on.
been on 35246 today as well, a full load with approx 5 standee's (rather lucky it wasn't a Solo on that run  38 seats rather than 27, and it was full). still moved well with the full load, but as soon as loads of school kids started getting off, it was an awesome ride :)

Not forgetting 17017 and 47617!

47616 is now on 50... and 34218 has gone back to the depot. The ride on 34218 was pretty good... hope we get another one!

rather interesting day in Workington!

a panel was missing from an 04 reg Solo running Harrington, so, 35246 was pulled from Seaton to go onto Harrington, 20473 was pulled from Moorclose 51 to go onto Seaton, and 34218 came from LL to replace 20473 on Moorclose 51.
why couldn't 34218 just go onto Harrington? its shorter than 35246!
also shows that a step entrance bus could operate Harrington! Volvo Oly's are shorter than 35246 (N reg ones are only slightly longer than 34079 and 34218), and there isn't any bridges along the route to compete with

5171593977_a3ef102444_z.jpg

so by end of afternoon, allocations on town services were:
20473 and 47006 on Seaton 47.
35246 and 47023 on Harrington Circulars.
34616 Moorclose Circular 50.
34218 Moorclose Circular 51.

20962 had been doing 48's.
47024 on short 300.
17017 on 30 and 31.

some drivers were having trouble reading the time today as well, with buses on Moorclose Circulars leaving Moorclose Shops up to 5 minutes early.

Lillyhall's allocations are falling apartttt! Two longer darts on towns, limiting whats on 30/31....smarttt! Please bring back the solo's!

Was the dent in the side of 35246 there before going on harrington ;)
34218 to the rescue-ish! Two darts on Moorclose is just as rare, as is two solos nowerdays *rolleyes*
- only one steppy on town services by the end of the day though! :)

the rather large scrape down the side of 35246 has been there for quite a while now! so it wasn't done on the tight-ish Harrington Circular route
LL needs more MAN engined Solo's! quite a hell of a lot better than the Merc ones! they're rather fun to ride on if you get one on 58! especially the time slots that miss out Broughton Moor and Dearham itself :D

Last I heard was that they are going to Runcorn, for use on the busway.
The Liverpool drivers wanted more money to drive them, it was not forthcoming so Liverpool use shelved.

Ohhhh I see! Not sure how well they would have worked anyway, bendies don't seem to have a great track record lol

ex Wyre Villager Solo 47001 is at Carlisle for repaint. heard it is going to Chorley along with 47002 for services 337 and 347, starting at end of the month. not sure if it is true or not.
If they definately do go to Chorley, it leaves Preston's Solo fleet as fully MAN engined.

Would make sense seeing as I'm told the PVR for the new services is 2 solos.
