Interesting that they sold it off for £264M in 2006 and have bought it back for around 59.5 million. I'm sure there is a lot of work to do to get the business back up to a high standard of operation and profit.

East london kept the fleetnumbers as well so there is no mesing about there.

Indeed it makes it very easy for SC!
I really hope SC taking on East London etc it will be a real benefit for the rest of the SC empire. I imagine it could really speed up the process of replacing step entrance deckers ready for the LF deadline!!!

It depends what system ELBG have been using. If all the info, even from Stagecoach times is there, fine.
However, the Dragons that were repatriated from Kenya had to get new, different fleetnumbers when they came back as records were incomplete and clashed.
Also, the numbering on some ELBG vehicles does clash with SC vehicles, and the artics are in the wrong series (amongst others).
18357 on 556, with an LGGS pupil making me all nostalgic about my first year on the bus.
47024 on Moorclose 50.
20129 on Moorclose 51.
20913 and 47060 were on 47. 47060 seen heading to Lillyhall at approx 4pm. not sure what replaced it on 47.
16447 has been on 48's.
14234, 14257, 16652 and 16653 all flying around.
17017 on 30 and 31, with 20901 and 35248.
16734 on 300 with 3 Scania's.
20919 done a catch up 300 to Whitehaven, with all of the chaos in Carlisle this morning.
34079 on short 300's again.
20129 on Moorclose 51.

I have heard that two MPD's previously based at Stagecoach Western's Dumfries Depot are now operating out of Preston.
They are: 33073 V973 DRM
33088 T35 VCS
However, this is unconfirmed.

fotopic doesnt seem to be working full stop at the moment, all fotopic sites and the main fotopic site are currently down.
Fleetwood Solo 47489 has been working off Frenchwood the last few days. Its been noted on the 3, 4 and (as I type) currently working the 150.
Does anyone have any word on Wallace and Gromit Solo 47493? I havent seen this bus for nearly 2 months now and its normaly a regular on the 113/150 routes.

47493 was/is meant to be transferred to Fleetwood, it did spend some time there but has since returned with issues and I don't think it has yet gone back there. It was also due a repaint too.
it was 47005 on Maryport Circulars, now on Moorclose 50.
47062 is the other bus on Seaton.
17017 was pulled off 300 at half 2. i'm told the engine was "on fire". i saw it at 1550, and could see huge amounts of heat coming off the back end. there was also some oil type stuff dripping out. 20910 replaced it.
Lillyhall's displays are being updated. they now show Sorry Not In Service 000 in the same style as Carlisle's :roll:
went for a ride on 34079 on short 300, it was awful. it was almost a case of "everyone out and push", even on flat straight roads.
20919 ended up on 30 and 31, it had been sat on annexe most of the day. 20913, 34616 and 35246 also on 30 and 31.
20436 been flying around, and looks awful. the back end is very shiny red, and the rest of the bus is still filthy, with green mossy type stuff still around the front area. can also see where body filler has been put on the back end.

Yeah, went for a spin on it.
As for 17017, my Grandma and Auntie were on it at the time! Huge amounts of black smoke pouring out of the back end, and some very loud noises from the gearbox. Also, they commented on the way the bus had been driven between Carlisle and Workington. AKA, being hammered!

Yeah 47005 was on last 50, the normal allocation change for last Maryport run to replace steppy on Moorclose.

Looks like 17017 is gonna be as reliable as its cousin 34079!!! I had high hopes :roll: haha
Going to whitehaven is mostly up hill, can imagine the ride back being slightly better!

all of them should be getting done really! the update includes programming for Sellafield 85, Sellafield 86, Sellafield 87, and ASDA Free Bus apparently.
i also noticed on 47062 on Seaton 47 today, the route number is more aligned to the right hand side of the display, with just "Seaton" centred. it has previously been "Seaton 47" all centred.
hopefully it is just a minor setback! whenever i've seen it, it has been a flying machine! it seems to be rather popular with both drivers and passengers, unlike the other useless machines on the 300 *cough* Scania's *cough*.
to be fair with the Scania's though, if the gearbox ratio's were set a little higher, they'd be flying machines!!! too much time in 5th and not enough in the lower gears!!! they're often in 3rd where the Volvo Oly's would still be in 1st! similar story to 17017 actually! where a Scania has been in 3rd, 17017 has just been ticking over into 2nd.

You'll also notice that the 50 and 51 destinations have been returned to 2 line format (Moorclose on the top line, Circular on the bottom) instead of having it all on one line. Much better IMO, also the side displays alternate between Moorclose and Circular, as they did before. All the rest appear to be unchanged apart from the "Sorry Not In Service 000" which now scrolls across on the LED side displays.
It looks like they are trying to have them all in the same format across the region.
much better with Moorclose Circular on 2 lines! it looked awful on the flip dots! older people would only see what the display was saying when it was right in front of them pretty much.
its a shame they havn't adapted full on Carlisle style. i rather like the larger destination with smaller via points, looks rather clear on the display.

Curiously this accident followed on from a fatal a couple of days previously when a cyclist was killed by a lorry driver's mistake opposite the art college, about 300m up the road. Not a good week for that stretch.

Spotted an East Lancs bodied triaxle double decker ticking over in Dalton square this evening. It was an 05 plate and all in black. Could this be one of two that Travellers choice are apparently getting?

All i been told (back in August) is that there are two tri-axle double decks due for Dalton depot, currently most if not all of the 70-seater coaches are in use at Dalton.

Ahhh thanks a lot, the only reason I thought travellers was because there was a travellers coach parked behind it and the drivers were having a good old chat as if they knew each other, probs didn't lol. Brilliant looking vehicle tho
