Intresting read about developments to the final touches to Workington Bus Station, "As well as repairing a timber roof, vacant land beside the bus station is being landscaped."

Now, the only vacant land that i can think of, or even see at the bus station is the annex on the side - but landscaped?? Does this just mean stones mixed in some tarmac! Or is this something else, perhaps not the annex!? if any one knows, answers on a postcard please :lol:

Noted at a very wet Preston yesterday: 17021 working the 2 to Southport, http://davidsnonrailwaypics.fotopic.net/p66545685.html while 17022 was working the 40 to Morecambe along with 18363. The 9 to Moor Nook had a random selection of vehicles including the recent NC Oly arrival (which number is this?) Oly 16392, ALX300 22256 and Marshal Dart 33171.

Does Preston still have an ALX400 on loan (or transferred) from Kendell? I noted one with an Orange LED display working the 68 to Blackpool but was unable to ID the bus. All other ALX400s at Preston have the Yellow Flip Dot displays.

Also, preserved Optare Metro Rider N589GRN, in HandyBus Black and Yellow livery, was parked up for a while.

lack of low floors continued on 30 and 31 today, as well as town services mentioned above.
20905 and 20913 are both out on 30 and 31, with 35248. so only a maximum of 10 of the 11 MAN E300's is out on 30 and 31.
20910 has been on 600.
20994 looked to have went to Whitehaven from Workington to start the evening 300 / 301's (1735 300 from Workington to Carlisle).

53338's LED's are still non-opt.

Don't want to be a stick in the mud guys....
But if they don't have enough to go around when some are VOR, A stepper will inevitably be the replacement. Better a Step Entrance B10M than no bus at all!!!

I do agree, the routes are advertised low floor, but they are advertised as "Low Floor Where possible" by the letter of the print. Remember... Before 2006, with the delivery of the 56 reg SPD's, we had no wheelchair accessible vehicles whatsoever!!!!

But I also agree, LL do need some more LF backups!

Noticed a H reg on the 40 this morning goin towards morecambe
Noticed since the bus station has been closed the 2/2A and the 4 have been leaving Heysham 5-8 mins late but arriving in Heysham way before bein due out is there a reason for that

Once again a Stagecoach Double Decker, as been involved in an accident in Lancaster City Centre. This time the Peter Rabbit bus, whilst working the 18.20 departure to Kendal hit the scaffolding outside the new travelodge on the corner of Spring Garden Street & King Street.

Not suprised was on the 2A yesterday and thought very tight corner and with the cumbria drivers not used to goin past it, it was an accident waiting to happen anybody hurt or has the bus been badly damaged

As far as i know anybody was hurt. I was unable to see properly as to the damage done to the bus, due to the bus still being in situ as i drove pass at abt 18.48

Kendal down a decker then, bet its sitting at ME.

Also is the bus apron as Lanc bus station been resurfaced as well? They seem to have given themselves a lot of time to resurface one road...

I was in the nags head in lancaster in the smoking bit which looks over the bus station and looking at the road around the bus station they have ripped it all up cobbles and all, me thinks it wont be ready for wednesday, i dont think they are doing anything with the bus station.

Frenchwood News, 33165 still remains stored but is of course sold to Ensignbus, the 2 ex Lincolnshire darts are infact 33203/4, these are possibly here as with the new 4C, at least one if not 2 extra vehicles will be required M-F daytime, which could result in the likes of 33163/71/2 staying... only time will tell (although they're pushing it a bit for the September route/college restart).
16352 was in the bodyshop area of the workshop this morning so could be being prepared for repaint.
The mentioned Olympian was 16184 and the Trident 18374. The 9's are being effected with all the Darts needed on the Penwortham as Cop Lane is shut and the estate its being diverted around is a tad tight on space and also at least 2 MANs look to have been towed in recent days, one of them being 22260... nice to see they are still as reliable as ever!
