The two S-reg'd 70-seaters Dennis Javelins, which had been up for sale are to be transferred to Dalton depot, for use on these contracts.

Also, it rumour that there some secondhand double deckers due!

I'm back, and boy does it feel good!

I would hope that the Scanias are the final come-uppance for the B10Bs, and 21007 will finally get withdrawn.

21007 is the only one I see any more (saw it Wednesday). I'm assuming they are selling all 4 as they are M reg...

Scotland was extremely wet, though I did see a fair bit of Scottish Citylink stuff.

21007 is the last B10B still in use - Jonesy posted that 21005 was withdrawn some time ago. Like you say, I can't see much future for the B10Bs, especially if Lillyhall will be shedding so many buses.

Anger Over Workington Road Closed
A bus company boss has written to Cumbria County Council objecting to plans to close a major route into Workington. Plans to resurface the A597 in Harrington will involve the road being closed between Eller Bank and the Galloping Horse Inn, from Monday, July 19.

Chris Bowles, Stagecoach’s North West managing director, said that diversions would cause havoc and disrupt bus services. He added: “We will have to follow the diversion from Lillyhall into Workington, which is far from ideal.

“Our service will be reduced as a result of the road closure and we expect our service reliability, due to the amount of traffic using the diversion, to be affected.

“We have expressed our concerns to Cumbria County Council, they have acknowledged this, but it was not a constructive response and there was no sense of wanting to redress the balance. “I don’t think we were properly consulted as our service helps a lot of people from the Harrington area.”

“There will be a significant impact on our customers and on the reliability of our service.” (Services 30/31 effected - also Harrington Services could also be effected)

When work starts a diversion will be via the A595 at Lillyhall, the A596 and A597 through Workington.

If 47474 isn't in storage at LL then its either vanished to another depot or gone to optare for work. The service trial it had at LL may have shown up some faults from the accident so SC may have sent it back to Optare for work.

I would guess that at least 4 709d's will be withdrawn but I'm not sure about all of them...

Council Roadworks are a massive pain in the arse. When we had them near the infirmary earlier this year they caused absolute chaos and keeping services that ran through the city on time was near on impossible. The works often over run and are not organised properly so they cause maximum disruption.

suppose to last six weeks here, meaning most of the Harrington area of Workington will be cut off - with owners only aloud to take vehicles out of the streets effected before 8am and after 6pm! I don't know what will happen to 30/31 services beyond Harrington (to Salterbeck, Moorclose, Bus Station/Town) as the only other route pretty much takes traffic directly into the town.

there's apparently a rather time-consuming diversion for the service buses while the roadworks are on. how true it is, i have no idea!
30 and 31 to Thornhill / Frizington will supposedly serve their normal routes from Maryport, up until just before the "Beckstone Bridge" bus stop in Harrington. they'll then turn left up through Brierydale to Moorclose on to High Street to head up to Lillyhall Ind. Estate, turn right onto the 50mph D.C., then into Lakes College, with the rest of the route as normal.
if that is true, then its quite a long diversion, and will cause quite a few issues with time-keeping!

I don't think anyone does at the moment, further misery for 31, 31A and 22 passengers in a couple of weeks when resurfacing starts at Keekle (between Whitehaven School and Cleator Moor) which is expected to take 7 weeks!!

47061 and 47006 on Moorclose - 47006 was late doing the 51 at half two, came in bus station at same time as 50, leading to a very crowded 50. 47006 went onto annex and no catchup bus was sent out - people were waiting for 51 on the route as I got 50 home :roll:

22821 brokedown in the middle of the Bus Station, boxing-in 47483 on stand 7, which was on 1840 89 to Knott End. I myself had to use stand 4 instead of stand 6 for the 1838 departure to Cork Road.
