Workington... Yay.
You beat me to that! i had a jaunt to workington on 20918, and came back on 22609.... Must say, being by first run on a 209xx B10M, i wasn't as overly impressed as i'd hoped... Give me a 207xx B10M ANY DAY!!!

Rather unexpectedly, also being my first "longer" run on an Enviro 300 (i have been on one within the confines of Maryport), i quite liked the way it handled the flat from Siddick to Flimby... Seemed rather smoother on that particular stretch than 25225 did when it ran the route.

I've only been on 20918 once, but Andrew was driving it! Therefore it went pretty damn quick
20931 sounded rather poorly today, like 20919 always does!
Oh, I think 16714 was also on 30/31 today. So that's at least 6 step entrances.

I saw all the ones Brett reported within a very short period of time this aft, plus nother one driving in from Whitehaven, not sure of number...
16714 was on 300s! (i saw her various times during the day) But surely a decker would have been on, making it 7 on a route with a PVR for 13 Accessibles!!

Yeah, we saw all of those ones between Maryport and Workington.

I know it's not strictly LL's fault (as a depot in themselves) they are short on Low floor vehicles for it's services, but surely everyone agrees that it's high time Stagecoach woke up and smelled the coffee and done something about it!

The MAN's are also proving to be quiet unreliable over the summer months. Haven't seen 34616 on 30/31 for a while.... good times!

34616 has been in the paintshop, although should have been back out by now. Probally doing Greenbank/2 in whitehaven if it has. Last time i was on it, stationary vibration was very bad!

I find 34616 to be the best of our SPDs... Doesn't say much for the four 56 platers! but TBH, the hill into seaton took it's toll after the floods.

Thanks Gez I was hoping you would answer that one! Do depots request cast offs or do they just turn up?

I know I have a nasty habit of mentioning stuff that isn't SCNW but I read this on another forum. I asked what the E400H's would be replacing in Manchester:

"They are for new Routes aren't they and not replacing anything to the best of my knowledge? "

The only reason I mention it is that movements out of Manc may effect us as they have in the past. Anyone know if new routes are planned for Manc etc?

They are for the 143 out of Princess Road, shame on you taking note of other Forums.

I know Gez I feel ashamed but I had to check and the folks on here are a lot more knowledgeable then anyone else! Now I've just got to try and figure out what Manc will get rid of lol.

So if they are for the 143 does that mean that SC are converting the 143 from Magic bus to normal service?

Just seen 15680 in service on a 40 (I think, it was a Preston anyway) outside Morecambe Library.
A lot quieter than a Trident, and a lot less revs pulling away. And no sooty clous either....

Great the first one sees service! I wonder if all four are out and if the Leylands will now be withdrawn!

So ME and LL will become Leyland free zones leaving only KL, BA and CE. These depots will probably benefit from Volvo cast offs displacing yet more Leylands onto disposal.

I suppose it will also depend on required capacity. What routes have they lost prompting the reduction in PVR?

Fair enough but if this routes were low capacity I imagine low capacity vehicles will go. However if they are school routes for example that used Leylands then the Leylands could go.

Do you know what a Scottish profile was doing at CE yesterday?

Stagecoach Western's SF09 ACZ (53325), operating the Stranraer to Carlisle X75 (interestingly, this runs in direct competition with a contracted route operated by James King. more passengers use the Stagecoach one though, with buses being much much better than James King's! why go on an L reg Volvo B10M with Plaxton Excalibur body, in rather poor condition, when you can go on a shiny 09 reg Profile that is extremely clean )

I can't say at the moment, I'm sure it will be announced soon though.

The only obvious ones are school routes which are currently operated on behalf of the Council. Funding for the ones from Stainburn/Southfield/St. Joes is only provided until the end of the summer term. So that's three B10M's gone. Wouldn't surprise me if SC have lost some of the ones they run in Whitehaven (two long Olys) and Maryport (b10m from Netherhall) as well, this has happened with SC Western. Leading to the withdrawl of many ex Hong Kong Olympians.
