I'm angered, i don't see why the need to! Why even give us 47474 in the first place..... back to minibus shortage again!

On the plus side, Havelock Road (should have) according to local newspaper, be back to two way traffic today (from derwent howe/morrisons to train station viaduct) - resuming 50 normal service route. One way system put in place when the workington temporary road bridge opened

It may be that Preston want it back and something else will turn up to replace it. However if this is the case its ruddy stupid. They've gone through all the trouble of putting it into service and now they are getting rid of it? This makes no sense!

Also something Cainebj pointed out to me is that on the fleet card 16874 is marked down for collage work in September. Anyone have any info on this?

I'm thinking that too and I really hope something does turn up! its been a busy little bus when its been here, taking over the majority of the evening services as well as providing help in keep all town circulars low-floor! :-x

Me and Cainebj had a conversation about 47474 the other day, and i pitched the idea she was only here so LL's maintenance team (well known for being the best in the region) could monitor it and tweak (regarding the accident repairs - more notably the front axle) where necessary... This may well have been the case - Monitor for a couple of weeks as it had been standing for quite a while, then pass it on to where it is intended.

Personally i feel i may be right to a point... It has sat at CE for a while, and for some reason whenever CE want something "major" looking at, it rolls into LL... But anyhoo, it's gone! i just hope that torrid twins 33143/4 don't enter service here as LF replacements! I know 33144 has had parts robbed, but 33143 has been painted!!

Its not that they are bad buses its just that SC really don't think when they are buying buses for West Cumbria lol. Saying that I don't know if there is a bus on earth that could manage west Cumbria without been ruined lol.

I think 33143 is going back to Preston as it is shown as Disposal-PR/Res

Isn't it also because they (the manufacturers) because of emission legislation etc - are trying to squeeze more power our of smaller engines? Many years ago I know someone who'd commute to work on a Jawa 350, never one of the most sophisticated bikes - but with it's relatively low revving and simple engine it was the ideal high mileage commuter, where some Japanese bikes at the time would blow a gasket after 20,000 miles of hard use. Similarly - the big 11 litre lumps that used to go in buses might have not had blistering speed or startling acceleration, but they had the lugging power and the engine didn't have to work as hard. I was astonished at the noise the current lot of Tridents made as they go about their business - like some over excited puppy.

shortage of low floor Mini's will be continuing a while then!
as well as the previously mentioned B10M on Moorclose Circulars, there is one on Seaton 47 as well!
they might as well remove the low floor adverts from Moorclose and Seaton routes! and i will laugh my head off as soon as the regular wheelchair passenger starts kicking the inspectors box door again!!! she was wanting on Moorclose, which was B10M on both routes, so the inspector put her on 31, of which often gets 2 / 3 step entrances on it each day now!!!

What a coincidence that 47474 has been withdrawn and the fact there are two step entrances on town services today.
20923 on Seaton.
20913 in Moorclose 50.
47024 in Northside.

Problem is B10's will last and newer buses wont lol. But you're right, they should get more low floors up there especially if they struggle to keep low floor routes low floor. Will be interesting to see if they pull in a low floor decker from somewhere to act as a spare for the 300.

I have no idea where 47474 is going, although Carlisle was mentioned, but I can't see that. LL are "hoping" to get another solo in it's place, probably an older one from Preston. :roll:
In LL's defence, it isn't down to them what buses stay or what buses leave, if it was I'm sure that there are quite a few buses that would have long since departed!

Oh yeah I wasn't thinking it was LL that were been stupid I always assume its head office lol. I would hope something will appear to replace it as it is clearly needed. As you say maybe something from Preston or maybe if 47474 is going back to PR 33143 will stay at LL...

Probably not, 22600 (a low floor MAN) has been fitted with a tacho unit and will be used on 300 if/when a Scania is off for service/repair.

They need a spare decker because when a Scania is off and the MAN is on it means the route the MAN is meant to be on is one low floor down. KL have a spare Trident or 2 don't they?
