I was driving home from work today and saw a double decker going to Morecambe in the old school white Stagecoach livery with 3 stripes (i think)

What's that all about?

That's Volvo Olympian 16664. Its been in that livery for a while. Rather then painting another Olys into the Morecambe and Heysham green livery they decided to do one in the old livery.

quite a few service cuts for Barrow then! makes sense now that BA didn't get anything from Merseyside to wipe out their remaining 3 K reg B10M's! looking at some of the cancellations, looks like their 2 remaining F reg Leylands could disappear without replacement! at least 1 of them cancelled routes is mainly 709D operated as well!

on another note, ex LL 20768 should be off to the scrap yard soon! the rebuilding of 20966 is now complete, with a partial repaint on the front end of the bus (covering the full front, drivers cab window, and the door) where all of the rebuilding work was done.
Open Top 16329 has had its new engine fitted after its previous one went BANG! it should be out and about in time for the Carlisle operated 78's, which start in just over 2 weeks time (the current 78 service is Penrith operated. the additional Carlisle operated one provides the half hourly service, rather than hourly).

Has anyone thought of doing one in Lancaster City blue and white?

It was a nice "past blast" Going on the Bristol they occasionally still used on the 40/1/2 route four, five years ago. As it was still in service that long I presume it went on to be preserved somewhere??

There has been talk in the past of doing one vehicle on old SC livery like 16664 and another in LCT colours but the idea never came to fruition.

15679 out of service at the bus station this afternoon.

16659 is out of action for a while with N/S front end/windscreen/door damage after crashing into a stationary pick-up outside the old wall and sager bike shop near the corner of north road, 16655 might be donating it`s front if it hasn`t been sold.

The accident happened during the morning peak. 16659 was working a Ripley School service at the time, all the children had to be evacuated via the emergency exit.

Poor lass! Looks rather nasty but glad nobody was hurt!

Any news on the X12? Or the new ticket machines for that matter?

I have not heard of any injuries.

Only that it was a new driver, who as recently passed his test and that this is his second accident in two weeks!

With abit of luck, he will learn by his mistakes and will become, a better and safer driver.

I too have taken a photo of the bus, when it was parked at back of the south bound stands at 09.26

Unfortunately, I am having problems trying to upload photos from my mobile onto the computer.

Bit of trivia; We were bussing in past the same spot a few weeks back with a learner driver and trainer - as we came up to there - because there were trucks parked on the pavement a van tried to squeeze through the gap between us. It was our bus that had to brake quickly to avoid catching the van.

It goes to show in a way that Lancashire County Council were right to be picky about the parking arrangements there when they were looking at the planning application for the bar/restaurant/night club there that fell through.

Sorry for my lack of contribution, I've been in Cambridge.

Period 2 fleetcards online at my site - unfortunately the cell comments don't show. (This is a limitation of my main PC being broken). I will fix that however when I return from Scotland on Thursday.
