A step entrance vehicle is needed for the 58, the county council do not fund low floor bus provision for that service at the moment.

Any new drivers at Lillyhall will only be trained to drive automatic vehicles in the future, as there are no manual buses left in operation. It will mean that if they wish to leave and work for one of the local independent companies, they would have to upgrade their licence to drive manual vehicles.
I'm sure Preston are also changing (or have changed) to automatic driver trainers aswell, as will other depots when they get rid of all of their manual buses.

Long live the manual box!
Although, it wouldn't be particularly difficult to put a ZF Automatic in the current training vehicle.
Drivers based at Penrith are trained at Carlisle, so until all of Penrith's manuals are withdrawn, I would imagine that Carlisle will continue to use a manual driver trainer.
Hey up cainebj. The thing I liked about the Bright Tech desties is that as an electrician fixing the things there was never a shortage of work. I was always picking up the green and black halves off the bottom of the destination box and snapping them back onto the grid. As for the tensioning wires...don't get me started. Wonderful screens and absolutely made their contribution but way too complicated for bus work.
Lillyhall- 20790 withdrawn, last running day for 20761 today, M and P reg's next for the chop.
KendalKing - I think the white B10M will have ben 20762 off to its new home.
