freshly painted 47024 on Staff Shuttle's. it is missing its ticket machine after its repaint.

noticed on timetables on north of the river that there is a new 100 timetable in place from tomorrow. (25th Jan) there has been no notices of this change in Workington Bus Station. i'm not too sure what has changed really. it still runs half hourly mon - sat, with a few different runs on sat. there was no timetable for sunday services on 100.

mbonwick, in answer to your question in the comment you posted on my fotopic site, the trident that can be seen in the pic is one of Kendal's, it's 18359 (MX55 KPL), probably here for MOT, the driver took their M reg B10M back with him.

Apparently the chassis on 16648 is utterly f***ed and needs major attention so it wont be on the road for a while. Jonesy do you know how bad it is?

Also South bound services are not using Common Garden Street at the moment instead going round Dalton Square and picking people up there.

Chassis cracked, i think 16648 is cheaper to repair it than to scrap it.

47005 on 51. i'm sure it was a PO51 on it this morning!

33167 and 47059 on 30S runs this morning, so will have been on Harrington as well. 33167's display wasn't working at the time when i saw it.

Don't I know it! It was my ride home on the 1620 556. Whatever Kendal did to it last time, it's broken again. The vinyls are peeling everywhere, everytime it go any sort of speed up it started to smell of burning oil.
Oh, and after the driver won the award for 1st driver to hit a certain tree (that I can't believe isn't clobbered more often), it's also got dented top panels :roll:

So yet again we see that 1. Kendal's maintenance is poor and 2. The Tridents can't handle the route!

No, I don't think this is a fair reflection on KLs maintainence.

Whatever they did to 18354 last time it was oily, it worked for quite a while and it stopped smelling of oil for some months. Only now its back.

Also noticed that Eric (18362) has developed a squeal as well.

Eric's squeal has been there for a while. Gets louder when it accelerates.

I sincerely hope so - I think given the amount of work the Tridents have needed, and they're only 5 years old (not even that yet), it's obvious they can't cope with the route.

What I'd do is:
New Scanias for 555
Send some Tridents to Morecambe and some to Carlisle to replace Volvo/Leyland Olympians.
New Olympians shuffled round with some going to Kendal for schools.

I quite like the idea of vinyls, but they looks stupid without all the windows done.
Equally, the contravision on the windows makes them useless. We'll not go there again.

Green livery would be nice, along with some form of LakesLink branding - IMHO it worked well on the Olys. However I guess the advertising revenues are needed....

South bound services are not using Common Garden Street at the moment instead going round Dalton Square and picking people up there.

This came into effect late morning, and is expected to last until the end of the week! This is due to the building works at the junction of Spring Garden Street & King Street.

The North bound services, which come from the south of the city, are using Queen Square.

Only had 8 seats and was used exclusivley by the Rotary club most of it was decked out advertising what they did and their history, one panel detailed the buses history. The MD of North West at the time was a member of the Rotary Club.

20949 was a surprise on the 555 this morning. Not sure why Borwick etc were missed out, but I ain't complaining!

Newly painted Trident on D6 this morning looking very smart indeed.

Normal stuff on the 2/2a all Tridents so far but I haven't seen much. There was an old solo on the 40 to Garstang this morning as well.

Noted both K768 DAO's on the X5 whilst on my way back from Keswick this morning, via the scenic route!
