Just remembered that i saw 16351 getting towed passed Ryelands towards Morecambe about 6.30pm

Expired on the M6, someone reported fire coming out of the back and it got surrounded by quite a fire, police persons, It turned out to be steam from a burst pipe, recovey by Heysjam trucks[/QUOTE]

Has a Leyland been withdrawn now 16877 is in service? Actually the only one I haven't seen today is 14196.

Star working of the day wasn't one of mine but 25228 tuning up on the 1040 89 service, replaced by 47489 for its next trip

..clearly Preston maintainence that does that, it was a good performer when Kendal had it in the last weeks of 555 Olys.

14204 should be the one thats withdrawn but at the mo` its in service until 16648 has it`s chassis repaired at morecambe(another ex-preston, they must let them fall to bits before they get rid).

Bit of news from Preston, I'm told that on 15th March, services 8, 16, 19 and 22 revert back to the Preston Bus operators license, regardless of the outcome of the appeal by Stagecoach.

Info bus went down to the footbridge, with an inspector on board, handing out new timetables for stuff down there.

33168 was pulled off Harrington and 101 (30S not running now, all timetables removed), being replaced by 47059.
47059 was replaced on 51 by 20763.
33169's gearbox has died, so that has also been pulled off Harrington and 101. it will only reverse, or drive in "1". 34079 came down from LL to replace it.

so, 34079, 47007 and 47059 are now on Harrington and 101.
14234 on staff shuttle.

20918, 20962, 33167 and 35246 on Maryport - Barepot 30 (as LED displays now show).
20904 on 300.

20759, 20761, 53339 and another Profile on X5!

All former Preston bus vehicles will be returned to them on or before 15 March.
Stagecoach are also required to paint any buses that have been painted into
Stagecoach livery into the new operators livery assuming the appeal is
unsuccessful. Photograph them on Stagecoach routes while you can.

So I guess the Lynx's and Metroriders will be departing LL shortly.
Also, LL's last remaining Merc 709d, 40028, will be withdrawn this week and transferred to Barrow.

Leyland oly ECW 14543 (A33 MRN) has been sold so i cant see that one going back.

16648 was in reserve after leaving preston for repaint so unsure why it wasn`t sent away for chassis refurb.

18357 on a very delayed 1620 556. We were further held up
1. Getting out of Lancaster
2. Carnfoth due to Roadworks
3. Burton-in-Kendal due to roadwarks.

I noticed when 18138 and 18139 was in morecambe yard that they had been repainted on the lower panels and skirts and the upper deck hadn`t been touched!

The lower half of most of the tridents were re-paneled, before leaving chorley and sent for repaint to the back and the lower half only, this was a time saving measure as they had to be re-painted, re-inspected and sent with a ticket to their new respective depots and we were running out of space to store them all!!.

The remaining tridents at chorley are 18144,18155,18142


Hope the ones at barrow are doing well....

Wasnt A33 MRN sold on the proviso that the sale was given the all clear by the CC? I was under the impression that if Stagecoach was told 'no' then A33s sale was to be stopped as by rights it wasnt Stagecoaches to sell

The CC ruling states that stagecoach can replace vehicles with same age or newer buses, but not older. What it doesn't state is that the vehicles have to be in the same condition.

And of course the ruling is to the effect that Stagecoach has to gain the CC's approval for the "reconfigured" Preston Bus, which by its very nature does not have to include all the vehicles that came with it.

At one point, there was a rumour that the company offered for sale would have all the original Solos, 1 Lynx.
A33MRN, the Lynxs and Metroriders in store would be kept by Stagecoach and disposed of.

I've no idea how far that idea got, or if its still on the table.

Very interesting. It almost seems as if the result of the appeal has already been decided lol.

14196, 14204,14208,16662,20451 and a B10B parked up at the bus station about 7. Maybe some of the deckers will go on the Carleton runs later.

Also saw the back end of 16877 at common garden this afternoon. It really does look like a Titan lol.
