14208 seen this morning at the Bus station, it was indeed on the 942.
Saw 20463 on the 81 as well.


Traffic round Lancaster was terrible - it's the first time I've seen buses queued along the whole length of Parliament St.

well we got one for the Bristol VRs when they were withdrawn, a Leyland day would be brilliant, giving them a last 12mph thrash up Hala Hill

not sure how they can run it with the bus from Harrington, cos the 30S is timetabled every 10 minutes, which is impossible from a bus on Harrington.

More like they've leased a new B7R Profile! They don't actually own any of their modern coaches.

Good old Hansar Finance, Brownriggs also use them. Besides, who would actually want to own all those god awful Bovas?! You never know with Reays, always been a dodgey outfit in my opinion... especially after the fabricated tachos.

That particular driver alwasy does , gives him chance to get down to the toilet without being mobbed, I was looking for a lost hat

16877 made its maiden voyage today working the 1455 42 departure to Blackpool and return.
I had to use 14195 on the 1353 Vale and 1425 Marsh services

16661 operated the 1640 and 1710 Ridge services

14196 spending the night at Garstang 1710 ex Morecambe 41 to Catterall

Mmm 25 minutes between journeys on the 46, that makes two 10 minute runs on the 30S easily attainable.
Also info i have heard is that this is just a temporary measure and will change in a couple of days as this service is really just to get college students from the rail stn to town to catch the 30/31 and will just run between 8 and 9 in morning and 3:30 to 4:30 in the afternoon the rest of the time it will revert to a commercially run 101 service.

Expired on the M6, someone reported fire coming out of the back and it got surrounded by quite a fire, police persons, It turned out to be steam from a burst pipe, recovey by Heysjam trucks

So presumably that'll eventually get fixed when the Morecambe lads get the backlog of demic vehicles cleared up, and then head off to Carlisle.

just been looking through pictures from yesterday on my flickr, and it reminded me to put something on here i forgot about yesterday!

20436 still has its side display box in place, however, there isn't actually a display unit in it! its just an empty box!
20435 had its side destination box removed.

18363 on 504 later running a 2 from Common Garden to the Uni. Then running dead back into town.
47016 on 40.

21004 developed door trouble half way to the Uni. The doors would close but not open meaning passengers had to manually pull them open. A high pitched warning noise was ringing constantly from Bowerham to the underpass as well. Not sure if the driver called it in or not.

Also it looks like Arriva are testing some ex London bendy buses in Liverpool. I believe 3 have been seen in the city. It is expected that they will go through a conversion sealing up either the rear or side door to make room for more seats. In total 20 will be bought and should be in service by Easter or the Summer. It seems about 30 of them are rotting away in storage...

I believe Arriva Merseyside are setting off with 20 and if they are a success they'll buy another 6 or 7.

Yes it did sound just like that! Good shout.

I just had another ride on 14195 and it has developed a buzzing at the rear end of the top deck. Probably vibration. Also saw 21004 again still running the 2a as you mentioned.

the ping-ping alarm is the standard alert for all warnings not just low air on the Volvos with the exception of the emergency door which is more of a screech and a ping.

I forgot to mention that 14195 was sat on the Uni bound Infirmary at about 02:20 this morning on student ferry duty

Of course, I forgot to add that bit and my post seems to imply that thats all its there for . When our B10B's used to have door issues in Halifax, they'd just sit there revving them up (presumably to build air pressure) until the pinging stopped! Worked most of the time!

Lancasters B10Ms and Olympians were a pain for pinging at random moments usually when going over bumps in the road and the suspension light would come on then go back off again dicky relays being the usual cause. Volvo added a nifty safety feature to its buses which I never saw on anything other than Volvos called a Broms Brake which is a small valve in the cab which would raise if you tried to drive with the air pressure too low and wouldnt reset until the alarm stopped. With the Broms Brake raised it was impossible to move the bus revving the engine got the air up pretty quick, I never worked out the 'Perambulator' warning though which was a yellow lamp with a pram icon - no idea what it meant but it lit up from time to time along with the alarm! Turning the retarder off on the P reg B10Ms (20546 etc) set the alarm off along with lighting the Jack-knife icon!!
