Thats a real shame. I have always found the J reg vehicles to be in much better condition both inside and out, and also a much much smoother ride that the H Reg examples.

I think its to do with the mileage of the J reg's...?

I remember the H-reg ones we used to have as being beter than the J-reg ones, a bit more sprightly; although 14191 was faster downhill and 14194 uphill, 14192 was my favourite of the three.

Answers from today,
The Trident was on the short 3s as the doors failed on one of the 18xxx's at Common Garden St around 0830ish the MAN for the 3s was all I had for replacement, hence Morecambe sending another Trident up later for the 3s.
The 81A noted at Common Garden St will have been a keen driver it works onto the 1645 Kirkby off a Blackpool service.
33166 arrived at depot at 1150 and is parked for disposal.
14195 and 196 are kept for seating capacity.
Had to go and rescue MFC bus off the hill heading up onto Newton this afternoon.
Driver grumbling that he hadn't been told not to go up. Made me look good in front of the assembled crowd thogh

Alexander strider B10B 21005 (M391 VWX) was withdrawn from service this morning after it`s MOT yesterday(bonkers i know) but word is we might be keeping it. Find out more when i go back in on tuesday.

It's better for the receiving depot if the bus has just been MOT'd by its previous home.

The B10Bs are too good to waste, but I can't see the sense in Morecambe keeping just 1 or 2.

I agree I don't see why we would keep one or two and if we were to keep any it would surely be 21003/4. Be interesting to see what happens Jonesy!

47061 was sat at back of bus station.

Reminds me of the two ex-Cumberland E reg 709Ds we had at Lancaster Nos. 47 and 48, you had to drive them like they had crash gears! :lol:

I remember at least one E reg 709d... for the odd configuration of their rear lights, in the bumper like the vans, rather than in the body of the bus. looked really odd! Don't recall if it was 47 or 48 though - my memory isn't that good!

The work on the underpass has obviously now been completed but I can't for the life of me see what they have done. It's still leaking water from above, they haven't done any painting or repaving or anything like that.

Also not really related to NW but T reg Tridents 17673/74 (SC East Midlands) are been put into reserve for open top conversion. I assume they will look very similar to the ones in the Lakes but obviously with different livery lol. Pics of the vehicles as they are now below:

16355 was on 61 / 61A this morning, later replaced by a 61 / 61A Dart of which had been on the 66 (can't remember number or reg).
67 / 68 branded Dart on 38 (can't remember number or reg either, but i took pic!).
14260 on 67 / 68.
quite a few non-route branded Darts on the route branded routes.
20924 on 66.
one of Carlisle's R9-XVM's on 300.
20768 on 600 with offside rear brake light barely visible.
a Vario on 69.

47617 on 50 in Workington.



oh, one other thing!
the side display on the 67 / 68 branded Dart on 38 (34709) was scrolling "Silloth via Tursby & Wigton", it should have been "Silloth via Thursby & Wigton"

Had 18363 on the 20.59 2a from Bowerham. Got to the bus station and it was swapped for 18381 for some reason. 18363 was then driven back toward the depot.

Also 18330 on the 3 and its side display was scrolling its destinations. Never seen it do that before, not for the 2/2a anyway.
