Did you notice the mistake on the Stagecoach website saying that services 3 & 4 are terminating at University Underpass, which is closed until 11th January 2010.

Took a photo of 16663 in Catterall at 1430 on a 42 to Blackpool, immediately followed by 22822 on a 41 to Preston. However, the 40/41 were certainly using the A6 this morning [as they were yesterday] as I could see them from my computer room window

Heavy overnight snow and ice in Lancashire and Cumbria has caused widespread disruption.
In PRESTON, as at 1015 around 90 percent of buses had turned out (and 90 per cent of Preston Bus services), but inter-urban services severely restricted. Blackpool is effectively inaccessible. City services are turning short of estates and some wholly rural services are cancelled.
CHORLEY and MORECAMBE running with delays, but not to rural destinations. 125/126 disrupted at Bolton end so we have reduced the frequency to avoid buses getting stuck as happened yesterday.
In Cumbria, we have just had to suspend ALL services from KENDAL after a spate of accidents. Service 555 running Lancaster - Carnforth.
CARLISLE PENRITH and WEST CUMBRIA are additionally affected by freezing fog, which means inter-urbans delayed and/or cancelled. West Cumbria locals and Carlisle city running but turning short of estates. Trunk road A66 blocked between Keswick and Penrith.
BARROW started badly but now returning to normal; X35 can't operate east of Grange-over-Sands.

22595 was on 30, and had the Red Steering Wheel Cover of Death shoved down back of "dashboard".
16651 and 16653 on Whitehaven - Workington 300.

20765 was on 50, and but was replaced by a solo.

Lancaster city centre now gridlocked, its taken me over 45mins to get from Greaves to Leonardgate. The roads are very wet and slippy I hope it doesnt freeze as the gritters are seemingly absent

The entire allocation of Tridents and Olympians parked up, 47009 snowed in behind the gate and 2 darts in the queue behind 18357 for fitters attention. They did lok rather annoyed at the workload!
The only B10Ms doing nothing were the school runners - all the others were out!
20132 on 1410 (I think) 555 to Lancaster, seen leaving Kendal.
47057 on 1610 55 to Lancaster.
Hopefully the weather will break soon!

My mother has just informed me it took her an hour to get into town because part of China street was closed due to a bus sliding sideways as it went down the hill toward the bus station.

Finally had a day out on the buses today First time in years!
Was on 20763 From Maryport to Barkers Bridge at 2pm, then FINALLY a ride on a Marshall Dart - 33169 on the 101 To the Bus Station... As Rosswatson and Cainebj found out when i bumped into them i was a bit worse for wear after the ordeal! the front end of the bus had around one whole foot of bounce under braking - i felt travelsick!! I knew they were bad, but my god!!
33169 back to the bridge after buying the missus' Xmas prezzies, and at the bridge i bumped into the Dynamic Duo again.... :roll:
20768 on 100 to Workington North station, and the DRS shuttle home!
Must be noted that although quite rough sounding 20763 has a fairly good turn of speed... this is one of the non-refurbed ones, so won't be around for long i would assume!
Also, 20768 has one hell of a loud "Wailing"/"Whining" noise on takeoff/slowdown... the wail at one point in accelleration makes the frame vibrate quite bad toward the rear.... it doesn't sound good at all... otherwise, a very very smooth B10M! a lot less bouncier than 20763!

Two Mans heading to Sellafield around 3 today, is there a reason why these arnt being used north of the river on 30/31, seems a bit unfair on the locals having to make do with knackered B10s. Noted on the fleetcard that the two M reg B10s are still shown as reserve buses.
well, what can i say? we're idiots! (not quite as bad as the regular driver on the 101! driving that Dart on there all shift certainly won't be doing him any good mentally! not that there was much hope anyways!).
at least 33169's gearbox isn't as bad as the others! 33168 is the worst! but as you said, it is pretty bouncy!!!

Workington - Seaton 37 will have an ammended route and timetable.
Maryport - Cockermouth 58 will have minimal timetable changes to morning services.
Barkers Footbridge - Maryport 30 will have an upgraded frequency, and a change to evening and sunday services.
Lowca - Whitehaven - Kells 1 will only run as Lowca - Whitehaven, retaining the half hour frequency, using 1 Solo. the route will be low floor advertised from the timetable print.
Whitehaven - Greenbank 2 will have a revised route and timetable in order to cover the busiest area's of Whitehaven - Kells 1. the route will no longer serve Fleswick Avenue, Coniston Road or Crummock Avenue. this will be a 2 bus service, using mainly Solo's.
Moresby Parks - Whitehaven - Egremont 22 will have a reduced frequency due to the route not being financially viable as is.
Whitehaven - Egremont 30A is withdrawn. West Lakes Science Park will no longer be served. Passengers wanting West Lakes Science Park will have to use the normal 30 service and use the stops on the main road.
Carlisle - Cockermouth - Whitehaven 600 will have the evening Whitehaven - Cockermouth and Cockermouth - Whitehaven services withdrawn due to lack of usage. (funny that, cos that is the only run on 600 i have used, and there has been plenty of people on it).
