One assumes that both J regs are off then, 204 would logically be kept longer because of it's livery.

I can only assume that 16662 with go in M&H colours, with 16666 gaining old stripes (as per 10056 when that was around) - possibly to commemorate 30 years or something of Stagecoach?

It has not been decided yet which bus is going to go into Morecambe and Heysham colours, but it might be one of the R `reg`s that is being transferred in to replace 16664/5.

I`ve known about the 14`s going for a long time, but i`m a bit surprised about 14204 going as i found out this week.
16877 is one of the replacements and i`ve heard theres a chorley R-reg coming up as well, but to me is pointless why replace one R-reg for another, but thats stagecoach for you mindboggling as always.

So J reg's gone by the end of the year? Or just 14204? And why are these 2 going first when we still have 14195/6 and they are older...

I don't know why they are still p***ing around with these Oly transfers. I don't think anythings coming lol seeing as we thought 16874 was ours but is now staying in Cumbria right? What a mess!

All the 14`s will be withdrawn in the new year when the service changes come into affect.

just been looking at the stuff about the DDA complience deadline, and thought might as well shove it on here.

single deck buses weighing more than 7.5 tonnes MUST be accessible by 1st January 2016.
buses weighing less than 7.5 tonnes must be accessible by 1st January 2015.
double deck buses must be accessible by 1st January 2017.
coaches must be accessible by 1st January 2020.

Great so rather then us losing Volvo's could we be gaining some as replacements for the Leylands?

21007 and 20546 on the 3/4

Dave the Bus - I apologies in advance for doubting the veracity of your information and also for not being able to count!

No problem mate, although apologies were not necessary, the post was typed with my tongue very firmly planted in my cheek, although i do apologise for being a little over zealous in pointing out the number of vehicles

Hold on so you say we are loosing all our Leylands so that's 4 and not getting anything in to replace them? That doesn't sound right at all...

18326 and 18364 on N1 last night.
16666 on the 3 driven by a KL driver at around 11 last night.

30 years of Stagecoach! Where does the time go? It doesnt seem like 5 minutes since 14204 came out the paint shop to celebrate 25 years. I hope the R regs paint jobs are as good as 204s was.

Reading the Go-Ahead Website, I'm not sure that they'd be overly interested in Preston really, unless there was a really good deal;

Go-Ahead is one of the UK's largest bus operators. With a fleet of over 3,500 buses, we carry, on average, around 1.6 million passengers every day. Our operations are focused on high density commuter markets. We are the largest operator in London, with around 21% market share, where we provide regulated services for Transport for London (TfL). We operate deregulated services in the North East; Oxford; the South Sast and Southern England.

Tacho fitted 20459 on the 555 this morning. Chatting with the driver it seems Kendal are short of Tridents, with 3 (?!) out for maintainence. The rest are needed on Dallam runs due to CCTV. Apparently vandalism hs been rathert bad since holidays.

I'm guessing the Tridents have been suffering due to the route...

Got the last bus from the underpass last night (10.58 ) and was horrified to see the driver get out of the bus, light a fag, then get back in the bus, close the doors and check the vehicle for rubbish while he still had his fag in his hand. It stank when we got on! Very polite and friendly driver but was a bit disappointed.

I'm sorry to butt in on this but I found it browsing last night so I hope you all don't mind some contributions

Anyway quite a few odd allocations on my way to uni today:

14204 and 18380 both on the 42.
14196 on the 41.
20540 vicing a low floor MAN on the 3.
20544 on the 2 instead of the usual trident, 17024 also on the 2.
20735 still out on the X1.

Also 16659, 16660, 21004, 22824 have all been stabled in the bus station at various points so far today.

No problem at all..is it 21007 in your avatar?

I reckon that the Tridents are suffering from the 555, I said I'd heard about their gearbox problems, the driver just made a "what do you expect from Manchester ****" kinda noise

Yep 21007 :D

I have to say there didn't seem to be as many tridents around as usual in general this morning. I'm off back out to uni now so I'll see if they've managed to sort things out a bit!

Hi 158757 nice to have you on board! I assume your at Lancaster Uni what year u in? I'm first year Politics :)

Everything normal this morning or rather everything I saw but looking at the info above it looks like some things were off.

As Mbonwick pointed out to me replacements for the Leylands may not be necessary with the service changes but I still think its odd to be loosing 4 high capacity deckers and getting nothing in their place. Will the Leylands be transferred or scrapped?

As for KL Tridents we've always known they were no good for such a demanding route. They are city buses after all so perfect for an environment like Manchester but Cumbria not so much!

Hi Dallamlad, I am, second year Geography. If you see someone in a green jacket and running late, it's probably me

Most things seem to have been sorted now, 20735 had moved onto the 2 (presumably peak time extra) and 20894 was spare at the underpass, but now everything seems to have the correct allocations on it. Most things were even running to time too!

Great stuff shall keep my eyes open! I have curly hair and usually wear a shirt with a jumper lol

Glad to hear it all got sorted, most services are running on time now seeing as the roadworks have been completed.

I hope the extra shuttles stay as in the evenings the 2's seem to have a nack of not showing up for ages on campus. Usually everyone ends up cramming onto the xx49 X1 or the xx00 3, which means they're very busy! As a result I've found out that if you position yourself right the luggage racks on the MANs can make quite a good seat .

I'll keep my eye out for you!

They're still faffing around with the roadworks but it's just finishing touches now! I still don't understand just why its taken so long to put in some new paving and replace the traffic lights, I seriously can't see any difference to before except a lot of new cycle lanes randomly criss-crossing here there and everywhere. Money would have been better spent on resurfacing Lancaster's premiere "off road experiences"-known to most people as common garden street, spring garden street, damside street, chapel street and the bus station itself! They're all in an absolutely shocking condition!

I have to say I admire the bus station road. It's just so bad. Just after the zebra crossing, the surface got dow to beyond the cobbles.
So what does the council do? Replace the cobbles and stick 1" of tarmac back, so there's still ha large hole.
Incidentally, I see in places its back to the cobbles.

Going past the North side is also bad - I've been on countless buses where they've actually gone into a hols so deep, the bottom of the bus has hit the road!
