Yeah, I thought all the K regs were going.

I still can't fathom what's going on with the others though, especially with Barrow storing buses.

Did you know that 2 of them magic bus B10`S where new to morecambe and left when we got the S reg tridents? But can you tell me which ones?

Are you sure they were new to Morecambe and not Carlisle?

If memory serves 463, 793-795 were the only ones we got new

I have no idea Jonesy
If Gez is right, I was 2 when 463 was delivered, and 5 when 793-5 were!

What's wrong with 17022 BTW? I know it majorly failed, but what with?

Im with Gez, none of the K regs that were at Morecambe when I was there were new to Morecambe depot. I cant remember when they were transfered in but I think some may have come for the 2/2A being converted to B10 operation along with the ex-Glasgow P regs.

Yeah, I knew 14208 had been bus seatified, didn't know they were from B6s, but that makes sense.

Cainebj tells me 34079 could use some new seats, I hope the seats get taken out of 30342 and used as repalcements.

They came of 2 N/C ex-merseyside B6 dennis darts(N???-CHF) that were stored in the yard before they went for scrap and if you go upstairs they slant to both sides.

In a similar fashion to the 2 seats where the centre door was on the 170xx Tridents. Their 'extra' seats came from wide bodied 709Ds!

The ex-Miseryside N---CHF buses were Dennis Darts, not B6s.

The Dart was made by Dennis (OMG! How surprising ), the B6s was Volvos attempt to regain some market share. It failed.

53336/7/8/9 on X4 and X5. i got to ride on 53337 and 53338 and i have to say that they are pretty damn sweet!!! managed up the hills on the route no problemo! extremely smooth as well! my only worry is that the doors won't last long! both drivers i had removed the handbrake and set of while the door was still open, then the door tried to close against the force whilst the vehicle was in motion.

47060 on 50.
47023 on 51.
33168, 33169 and 34079 started out on Harrington & Seaton. 33169 was replaced by a solo.
35248 on 31.
20753 on 30.
20436 on short 300.
16447, 16652 and 16654 were 3 of the 4 on full length 300.
47062 and 47616 on 1.
47024 on one of Mirehouse Circulars.
40028 done the Whitehaven - Cockermouth - Whitehaven 600 service. i was unlucky enough to be on it. the driver was having a few problems with 1st - 2nd and 2nd - 3rd, managing to crunch the gears constantly.
34079 on the evening Cockermouth X5.

CE's 20904 on Cockermouth - Carlisle 600.

RBZ was out on an excursion to Newcastle / Metro Centre. i saw it in Cockermouth and got a pretty bad pic.

42533 and 20959 were out in Penrith.
20965 used as staff shuttle in Penrith.
24122 and 24123 on 104.
16330 and 16355 on Penrith Market Free Bus.

not Stagecoach, but it turns out that Cumbria isn't Optare Versa free!!! Apollo 8 Travel, who operate the joint 106 service in Penrith, with Grand Prix Coaches and Stagecoach in Cumbria, have a nice, shiny, plain white Optare Versa, in which they use. it has a really nice interior with red DP seating.

i've got a few pictures of the Profile's in service on my Flickr. there are also a few interior shots from the back of the vehicle.

Excellent! When i finally get a new charger & battery for my camera (the old ones caught fire with battery in situ...) i'll have to go versa hunting!

some of Carlisle's Enviro 300's are sounding knackered already! Your Connections to Carlisle was on 104 today and sounded pretty dodgey! very similar to some of Lillyhall ones! the rattling vibration is there, as well as the tractor sounding engine!

and the Versa that Apollo 8 Travel have is really nice! i have an a*se end shot taken from 53338 haha.

just done a little "experiment" into the "current" North West fleet looking at average fleet ages and how many vehicles in service at each depot are wheelchair accessible. here are the results:

Carlisle: Average fleet age of 2001. 54% of the fleet being accessible. (includes Volvo Open Tops and Vario's for summer season).

Lillyhall: Average fleet age of 2000. 47% of the fleet being accessible. (includes Profile's and the only remaining 709D).

Kendal: Average fleet age of 1998. 49% of the fleet being accessible. (includes Open Top's for summer season).

Barrow: Average fleet age of 1998. 40% of the fleet being accessible. (this includes the X35 Tridents).

Morecambe: Average fleet age of 2000. 67% of the fleet being accessible.

Chorley: Average fleet age of 2002. 71% of the fleet being accessible. (this figure has went off 22 Tridents rather than 22 Scania E400's. when the E400's are all out in service, average fleet age will be 2004).

Preston Frenchwood: Average fleet age of 2003. 78% of the fleet being accessible. (this is with Volvo Oly's still in service as the Tridents moving to Preston have been included in the Chorley figures).

Preston Deepdale: Average fleet age of 2000. 73% of the fleet being accessible.

these figures have been checked, checked, and checked again. the average fleet age has been worked out by listing the registration year of each individual in the depot fleet and taking the average.

Thanks cainej, you have just proved what has already been said on this forum about Barrow & Kendal having the oldest buses, and that with the latest influx of newer buses at Kendal (S-reg'd Tridents, replacing B-reg'd Titans, 51 & 04 reg'd Solos, replacing W-reg'd Darts, and R-reg'd B10Ms, replacing K-reg'd B10Ms).

For those that are interested, it is registered APO 110S.

I wonder if we can expect 4 or 5 Chorley Tridents at Lillyhall for the 300, The Olys are pretty rough now (even after a paint) Has anyone else noticed the lack of Fleetnames on 20952???

If they do go to Lillyhall, it'll only be as a stop-gap measure; time has shown how the 125/6 has killed them, and the 300 is worse....

Barrow is where I've heard the Tridents are bound, to replace B10Ms/F reg Leyland Olympians.

Volvo Oly's are odd things haha.
the ones at LL are knackered, but i was on CE's 16330 and 16355 yesterday and both of those were decent!!! shame 16358 wasn't as good as 16355 is!!! think its fair to say that LL really does get the sh*te!

Great stuff all sounds good! Barrow could do with the Tridents so hope they get em!

New stuff for the 300 sounds good as well just hope those Olys can last till 2010/11!

Not seen anything today except 18330 on the 2a and 18364 on the 3.

Posters have gone up in vehicles informing passengers of the thank you offer on the dayrider this month.
