20918 just been repainted at Carlisle. was took to Morecambe for onward transfer to Barrow (its apparently easier to take stuff to Morecambe from Carlisle, then get it transferred to Barrow).

16337 on 214 (Carlisle - Penrith).
24122 (connections to Carlisle) on 79.
lots of Citi branded darts on route branded routes. didnt get chance to go to depot to find where all the route branded Darts are.
52408 on 685.

Just seen this sad news on the LEP website, how sad

A teenage boy has died after being involved in a collision with a bus which left him trapped underneath.

The emergency services were called to Slyne Road, in Lancaster, at 8.10pm on Monday after reports a boy had been knocked down.

Police said Dean Wilkinson, 13, of Mount Avenue in Lancaster, was running along the side of the road when he veered out into the road.

He was struck by a double decker bus, which left him trapped underneath.

Firefighters used a high pressure air bag to release the youngster and he was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Insp Nick Williams-Jones, of Lancashire Police, said: "He has been running along the nearside verge of the carriageway and has veered to the right into the path of a passing double decker bus as it was about to pass him.

"Dean was struck by the front of the vehicle and was trapped underneath.

"Once released he was conveyed to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary but was pronounced dead on arrival.

"The bus driver was also taken to hospital with shock but was released later that evening."

Ian Dodd, crew manager at Lancaster Fire Station, said: "We used a high pressure air bag and placed that under the chassis to get a bit of lift on the bus and he went straight into the ambulance."

Police are appealing for witnesses and are asked to contact either PC Canning or Sgt Ralphson on 01524 63333 or 01524 596699

As I was coming back into Carlisle along the A595 near Orton Grange, I saw PX59 CVC & PX59 CVD heading West, presumably going to Lillyhall. These are two of the new vehicles for X4/X5. This was about an hour ago

What a horrific accident The driver must be in bits.

Just had 14208 on the 2. I do love Leylands. The noise was loud, the vibration was awful when stationary but when we started moving it was smooth and quiet and I turned off my music and just sat back and enjoyed the ride.

Normal shuttle services been run from the Uni into town and back as usual.

Services been checked again in Hala this morning. The inspector was hugely impressed that our driver was on time lol.

When i first heard about this accident, i thought it would be the last 555.

So once again, we can except the anti-bus brigade to raise its ugly head.

just been browsing eBay and come across a Leyland National Reg: HHH372V. Is this an ex Cumberland Motor Services Vehicle, does anyone happen to know any hisory about the vehicle, I would be interested to know.

Jonesy, 20918 can't seriously be down for storage?! I'd have thought management would have wanted the swap to nwer vehicles done as quickly as possible.

One thing that has jsut struck me though (No pun intended) is that Barrow may not be in a position to dispose of buses - so 20918 will be stored while they get sorted.

I take it, M Bonwick, that you mean Barrow probably doesn't have room for new and withdrawn vehicles together?

Hopefully i will get sum doing lillyhall whilst training so should be up end of week or start of next. Been out at freckleton a RVPTs yard that was intresting. Pics to follow when get internet back on computer

Pickles, that was pretty much the short and long of what I was saying. As Barrow depot is a former road hauliers warehouse/depot, I doubt that they've much spare room.

Theres 4 B10M`S in depot for storage at the mo,20306,20452,20774 and 20918 and theres more to come.:roll:

Thanks for the info Gez I think the Chicken thing was just something they were battering around. Obviously just a tragic accident. How was the driver?

I also thought exactly the same thing today about 17017 driver9000. I saw it at University gate earlier and noticed it has pollution stains on its rear end.
