Theres nothing in the pipeline at the moment, but theres seems to be more going than coming in!! :cry:

Routemasters have moved elsewhere [No replacement]
20769/70/71 have gone [No replacement]
20452/790 have gone [No repalcement]
20616/23 have gone [No replacement]

You get the idea.....More will follow if the PB takeover goes through. I wonder if that's why 16877 was brought in, as possible replacement for an E reg PB Oly?

I heard that myself only b10m in reserve at morecambe is 20451(m451vcw). Just gets me thinking 14543 will be still here until this SCNW/PB thing is sorted out been here since open day in may.:roll:

Thats (16877) been brought in because its an R-reg Oly, which can be used on Schools, as a replacement for 14201, but as stated previously, its not being used at the moment

And whilst its on my brain, 18150 was in dock shop being de-branded the other day, unsure of the significance of this, but i know a bit of money has been spent by Chorley getting in specialists to look at whatever it was that finally killed it (it had been ill for quite a while)

Nothing concrete about 16635 yet, but i wouldnt panic about it being on the scrap list, 20767 is still at Cowling not going anywhere, and theres no reason to keep that, my theory is its a numbers thing, being shown in reserve means one less reserve place available for a bus which could be used in service if needs be, maybe someone could elaborate..

And as for the 'new' 125/6 route branding, lets just say its 'marmite-ish' (you'll love or hate it)

Shame that 16877 is being brought in for use here. It's fugly and totally mechanically knackered by virtue of its history.

I suspect that the conclusion over 18150 will be "chassis and engine built at Guilford = useless."

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure it was 20767 that suffered a siezed gearbox and associated damage. If it is the same one, a deal has been agreed for its sale for about 3 months!

Are some of Chorley's Tridents getting new engines? Could 18150 be one of the first to leave the depot hence its de-branding?

On the subject of buses going out and fewer coming in - I see that on the SC Manchester website their fleetlist shows a sizable number of R XVM B10ms in reserve. Perhaps more will head in our direction?

I don't think so, AFAIK all are accounted for to other regions, mainly Scotland I think.

Interestingly, 20941 (I think) which was still in service at the start of the month has arrived in Scotland, while other B10Ms which have beenin reserve all summer are still waiting for Scottish regions to pick them up.

Cool well I suppose if a few services are been cut down like the 55 theres bound to be more going out then coming in.

I thought the idea was to promote services and get people back on the buses, not to cut services more and more!!!!!!!!!!!

Indeed but its all very complicated I'm sure. If a route isn't financial viable then it has to be cut for obvious reasons. A route can't really be run on a loss unless the funding is coming from somewhere else, for example the County Council or an educational establishment.

It wasn't quite that with the 49/55 though. The timetable was merely rationalised, so now it's like a 55 every hour, interworked at 30min intervals with 55A which is also every hour.

So there's almost the same frequency as before, just with better timing intervals. The only time those services are really busy is school in/out times.

A quick read through reveals several interesting bits, but particularly:

Service 68 to Blackpool is scheduled to be operated entirely by low-floor vehicles from late 2009 (cascaded vehicles from Chorley services 125/126 which will be served by brand new vehicles). Thereafter, only the 61 and X61 services to Blackburn and Manchester will remain step-entry.

Which confirms pretty much that Tridents will be going from Chorley to Preston. it's also fair to assume that VLT 255 [or whatever its reg is] will be going to Chorley at some point in October for driver training, as it's unbranded.

I cant understand who CCC expects to tender for the X35. Who else but SC will have up to three spare deckers if the Tridents are out of action?????????? Also why cant the MMC just let SC get on with sorting Preston out and keep their effin noses out!!!!!!!!!!!

I really don't know about the X35, but remember it was SC who wanted out, not CCC. I can see a small but up & coming operator like Princess Coaches snapping up the work.
However, Stagecoach may have made their point and bid again, but much higher...

Also, the MMC (Or CC as it is now) keep getting involved as in their view we are still in the year 1994...

The thing is, both those companies are in the same hole as Stagecoach, ie. they don't have any other low-floor vehicles except the Tridents that come with the contract.
Now, I don't know about Clarkson's but I have a feeling Travellers Last Choice have already spent the money for new vehicles this year.

As with anything we'll just have to wait and see! It probably easier for SC more then anyone to find some low floors from somewhere to act as spares for the X35.

Looks good back in london colours but preferred stagecoach swoops and the only titan with a voith gearbox and nice to drive to.
